I understand what’s being said, but don’t understand the point of the thread. I planned on going to GVN, but might skip out if i make it to round 2. If i go to round 2 and miss gvn, oh well. if i go to gvn and miss round 2, oh well. I’m not understanding what the big deal is if you miss out on a tourney to attend another one (the “lesser” one). Seems like an individual decision to me.
edit: yea if i get knocked out of round 2 early i’ll just head up to GVN anyways lol

Actually, Round 2 conflicts with GVN, and Round 3 conflicts with FR.
The point of this thread is to come up with a way to eliminate the need to decide between better tournaments, and this Round 3 prize, since, to me, that’s the only redeeming quality of the GS shit, and only one of us is gonna win.

ninja edit: even if you guys do that thing you wanna do. there is no guarantee that, that one person wont get randomed out. one game single elim on an xbox pad. anything can happen. kinda like guess strike. sometimes even the best can get randomed out.

Normally I would say divide and conquer if it didn’t happen on other tournament days. I guess you’re going to have to pick and choose, overall people who can’t attend the major tournaments can only go to the Gamestop ones. I mean I don’t plan on going out to Final Round and GVN, I’m pretty sure there are others like that. I guess this is their way of kind of creating scenes in areas that didn’t have them to begin with.
I understand that, but i just don’t think it’s that big of an issue. I’m sure everyone has prioritized which tournies they’re gonna go to. Personally, i think it’d be great if everyone heads to the round 2 tournies that way the randoms get a chance to see what real SF play looks like and get interested, especially here in MD since there like no SF players (3s doesn’t count).
BUT if i didn’t want to think for myself and we decided to vote on who should go to the tournies, i’d vote kimmicks since he’s obviously the best SF4 player in the area right now. My chun is still better than his in 3s tho.
oh yea, the round 2 pads are almost free depending on where you live, so i kinda see that as incentive to go
you must win a round 1 to attend a round 2 tourney and so on and so on.
Yea i’m assuming round 1 is an automatic win for anyone going. Rounds 2 and 3 is where you’ll probably see comp.

Ya. Umm…I wouldn’t know who the easiest character is, minus Blanka by far, use Blanka/Chun. There are some other easy ones but they require some padwork, with these two you just need charge.
Well I think that someone from our area should be in round 3 no matter what. So it really shouldn’t matter or discussed. Who ever stays from the majors ( ie FR GVN ) and, completes round one and round 2 would have prob not gone to any majors no way. I’m pretty sure most people THAT will go to GVN and FR have already decided anyway.
The people that stay should win it for our area pretty much ( round 3 ) and, the other tops in our area should go to the majors that’s how it should be.
I was planning on hitting the Hunt Valley spot if I decide to do this.
