There will be PLENTY of free t shirts like there are every year. I’ll also be the only person who doesn’t take one. Unless Ibuki is on it. Otherwise…no. Maybe Blanka…or Flavor Flav.
With Guilty Gear out as an Evo game, I will not be attending. I was looking forward to going for my first time this year, too. Maybe next year, I’ll be going for Calibur, or Blazblue/Gear if they instate either of those. Best of luck to all my MD people, and have a blast.

I see some people are still going to Evo for at least a side tourney. I never really thought of Guilty Gear being out as a big deal since there’s no sponsored prize money any ways. You don’t necessarily need a big screen finals just to make a tourney game hype, but I guess it’s just the stigma of GG not being an “official” tourney that’s keeping people away. Evo would have been a great stepping stone for GG in the US if things ran well with as many potential players as there are now for the scene.
Next year is free entry for GG players as long as ya’ll keep bringing the numbers. This keeping GG out thing is nothing more than Evo’s way of teaching a lesson. They know they need GG. :lol:

For now I’ve decided to keep my room cap at 5 people so for now…it’s just my bro, Steve, Brandon, Jason and myself. I’m not trying to fill up the room with a bunch of bodies. If some emergency comes up I’ll think about one more person but I’m good with that. We gotta have at least one more room going if anyone else from MD is trying to go. Eric Kim originally said he wasn’t going, but I think there might be some last minute chance that he can. We’ll see.

Yeah…the economy is killer this year. I don’t blame people for not making it. Yeah…they’ll probably be charging for shirts this year since we aren’t sponsored by Toyota or Honda or Mountain Dew or Perrier or Bawls (cuz I love balls?) or sumtin. I never liked any of the free Evo merchandise any ways so if something is free I might cop it just to bring it back to you guys. Unless I actually find something I like.
TBH, other than the last C3 tourney and Shohaib/Shekeib I haven’t even really practiced a whole lot. 3S is just something I feel that I can get into and just play. A lot of the regular stuff I do with Ibuki is pretty safe on block and I have down pretty well execution wise. It’s pretty much just the low defense and getting beasted on by characters I don’t know how to play against too well that I’m worried about. Ibuki fits my playstyle though so she’s mine till the end. Especially since no one else uses her any ways that’s definitely enough of an advantage considering I play solidly. Long as I remember my mistakes from before and keep a level head I should be good. The single match setup last year made it real easy for me to run through run of the mill Kens.
It’s pretty much just MD going this time as far as SF players are concerned so it’ll just be one part of the Tri State holding it down for the whole thing. Steve sounds hungry as hell. I wish I was as hungry as he was…I might have had a chance of winning the whole thing. I’m definitely hype about him and the other CVS2 peepz getting far this year. We’ll see how many people I can um…random out. LOL. After that I’m playing that IV and partyin till everything turns upside down. Don’t worry…MD’s best is gonna represent.
