MD/VA CvS2 Thread

cr. jab jab, cr fierce FTW. Fuck yo guile

best combo EVER!!!

If you are serious, I maybe be able to find a location that could be suitable.

Bmore do you only run real estate in the baltimore area?

Serious Business.

nope i go where the money is located. bmore homes are selling a bit better than everywhere else right now (mainly because of investors). So im here but if people are trying to get a home anywhere in md im open to help one find it and move there.

Back in!

I’ve actually been in training mode for the past week. My Bison is finally starting to feel good. I’ve got new shit.

We gotta get ready. We need some good sessions starting this week.

What’s gooooooooooood?

Honda Can fight VEGA!!! play Honda.

I played you in tournament with honda… I left your pont VEGA with a pixel of life. that was like 3 years ago though…

Everybody at my home. Anytime I Dosent matter how early or late. Its all good tell sunday. I am just chill n.

I just Got back form Cali… got laid off form my slutty job working at a bar.

I Dont have to go work… fokes are out of town. all I am trying to do is walk around college park to get a another slutty job, Play Streetfighter, eat, repeat!:wgrin:

Well my team of Terry, Joe and Hibiki need some real training im open this weekend

Sparatik’s blanka is still legendary. I didn’t feel right when I beat him in tourney once…but he admitted he didn’t play the match correctly. I’d play him online if there was a real CVS2 available for online play and lagless.

Aaron, what’s up? Jason, BChan and I are trying to play right no bt your phone’s dead!

Hey Guys! Iraq Post time! You guys made me think about plugging in CvS2 and practicing for a total of .75 seconds.

Very Viable, but you’ll have to switch the R2 from Rolento to Eagle depending on the matchup. Rolento also stuns easy and is subject to those nasty, nasty A groove OTG Grapple Customs.
I think Eagle fights Blanka and Vega better, and Rolento fights Chun, Sagat and Cammy better. Just a gut opinion with not much substantial to back it up.

That team will have real tough times with Iori and Bison. So, be prepared to lose to Havoc alot.

2005? Try 2002! Lol! What’s great is it still pwns!

In the last few years, Honda developed the deadliest wakeup mixup in the game. RC Ochio mix ups are fucking deadly. You only really need to knock them down once. Therein lies the problem sometimes. Against say, Vega or Hibiki, they have no reason to attack you. That’s why those are hard fights. Get in though, and it’s fun times. I think a huge key is to never do RC Fierce hands, only use RC Strong hands to advance and RC Jab hands to bait out a slide/jump/whatever.

The whole match depends on the vega. At the top level, I do not see Justin Wong getting hit by honda with his Vega.

Man… all of us have had this dream… but unless tekken 6, Soul Calibur 4, and SF4 are the biggest fighters in history, arcades are not coming back. Most US gamers simply WILL NOT cross the 50 cent threshold for fighters, and the other popular Arcade games (DDR, etc) are simply too expensive to maintain profits. The only thing feasible is to have some other business function to draw people in, whether it’s billards, a bar, a LAN cafe, food, coffee, even a Laundromat. Then you’re not an arcade owner, you own a laundromat with arcade machines inside of it.

That laundromat right by Gametime, it’s still there isn’t it? Thing probably out profited GT by 100 times a month.

I have plenty of ideas for arcades, such as a non pay per play business model, which could help them in the long run… but in order to suceed, you would need:

  1. An easily accessible location to your target audience: i.e. 15-30 year old males. This would probably be somewhere close to a metro stop or major mall. That land is NOT cheap. I think c3 loses 15-30% of possible player base because of it’s inaccessibility in ashburn. That poorly ran X30 tourney in Rockville had all kinds of random Tekken players show up. Guess what? Walking distance from a metro stop.

  2. Games people would actually GO TO AN ARCADE to play. Face it, 70-85% of people who’ve played fighting games are console warrior, pad playing, CPU fighting, throwing is Cheap scrubs. They’re not going to an arcade to play a game they can play at home. They don’t see the difference in competition and CPU. Nothing has motivated these people since Mortal Kombat II.

  3. A clean, well managed, well maintained, and reasonable arcade. This is what’s impossible. Arcades tend to be run by businessmen, not gamers. Businessman change the options to max damage and max difficulty to make more money. Businessmen don’t replace sticks or buttons… they say “the other ones work right? consider it a challenge!” Arcades used to print money, and the establishment got lazy, it has never recovered and now is a backwater for managers who fail at life.

I have tons more thoughts… but, since you’re the umpteeth person to state this dream, I know it’s fruitless to even venture them forth.

GGPO Arcades.

Robin Calm!!

It’s true! I hope you guys have a great tourney next weekend. I will be glad when a community can survive my departure… the VCU video game club in Richmond did not. It’s really hard to get gamers to be proactive and run shit… they just wanna play games.

And gamble.

I’m almost positive I’ll be back from April 18th to May 18th. So probably May 3rd would be sweet. 1st weekend I’m celebrating my birthday and 2nd weekend visiting Richmond. Not like I’m going to be any good at anything… Not touching a fighter in 4 months will do that do you.

oh, one last arcade note. I always wondered why arcades didn’t have “club pros” or something. Like, If I ran an arcade, I would hire a games attendant that was GOOD at games, and could beat the players off of the machines. If a player was really scrubby and asked him to stop, he’d have to of course, but if a player wanted competition, competition would always be there.

C3 is here to stay. That’s fo sho. I feel bad about still not knowing how to run a bracket. I should really figure it out.

C ya in May Renegade.

print one off online with letters… put yourself in the bottom bracket with scrubs, put all the best players in the top bracket, proceed to randomly move people to other parts of the sheet, you win… simple

sounds like a New York/Jinmasta tourney

robin, long time. hopefully iraq pat doesn’t replace you completely as “average white guy”:wasted:

i love chicken, dearly. in hindsight, i’m mad that i didn’t get more

dingdangdoom has failed me…i’ll go back to opips soon
