Someone else also told me they thought I was Marc G when they rolled up too. Definitely must be long lost brothers or something. I guess you just see a big black forehead and go…“oh wuz good, it’z Marc G!”
Yeah…for me it was more so getting adjusted to the slower timing of things in the arcade than the sticks. I’ve had enough practice on US sticks to get adjusted to them and I’m used to playing at arcades where certain directions never works. I was able to crouch block and jump pretty effectively on both sides which for a US cabinet…is pretty good. It goes to show that the people at Springfield actually care about the fighting game community (well…ok no CVS2 and botching MVC2 kinda sucks).
Pablo is hella serious. His Ken game definitely surprised me. His Urien wasn’t bad either but he definitely held it down with Ken. He was getting win streaks on all of us for a while before I could figure out how to break his game. He’s patient and doesn’t stick out easy mode strings all the time like other scrub ass players. He mixes that shit up for real and gets that MP, HP super link pretty consistant. I was impressed by his overall game and look forward to playing him again.
Victor’s gotten a bit more solid as well. He’s also more patient than he used to be and can win matches by just holding on to Chun’s bar all day. Not to mention he got a stupid long win streak with fucking Alex. His Alex is no joke. Some psychic ass shit he pulled out with him. If only he could confirm into super…he would be beast. You can pretty much count on being safe against getting supered by his Chun for most of the fight.
Shinshay definitely didn’t like the sticks too much. Like that one point where he was randomly mashing on the stick and I thought he was just kinda footseeing back and forth and then he busts out “man…I can’t throw a fucking FIREBALL!”. That brought on the ROFL’s.
Oh and the random ass Mexicans watching the fights all chill like a gang fight in the streets was hilarious. Like one Mexican on each corner of the arcade with their arms folded just observing the game.
Good to see Crimson, Ek, Chris and Mike again. All you guys are hella chill and should come to more tournaments. Sorry I couldn’t get more games in with you Crimson (I had to pick Twelve cuz I needed to go and needed an excuse, LOL). Next time I’ll try to get something set up where I can stay longer cuz I’m sure next time I’ll end up catching the likes of Eric Kim and the gang when they get off work.
