Ok so since this is one of the MD/VA Threads, and yes I know this is the 3rd Strike Thread as well. I live in VA Beach and have not found a good size group of people who enjoy playing Fighting Games like 3rd Strike. And I was going to go to EVO2k6 this year, but since I am a US soldier, Uncle Sam was like no SF for you your going to Iraq for a year! My first chance at going to EVO blown! But I will be damned if I don’t get to go to EVO2k7! So I will be comming back home to the sweet wonderful US/VA Beach area in about three months, and I want to know exactly where you guys are located and or meet up to play because maybe if you guys aren’t terribly too far from me I could meet up with you guys and earn my right into you guy’s group and respect as a fan of and still player of SF/Fighting games since 95’ So let me know what the deal is for anybody who can help. First off high five Iraq buddy. I’m in Baghdad if you’re ever around there. I have a TV and a couple sticks (japanese) with 3S/ST/SFA3/etc. I’m going on R&R in about a month, but I’ll come back (been here almost a year and a half, will be here for a couple more years maybe). PM me if you want to share more info, don’t want that nasty OPSEC stuff to get out of hand.
Secondly: They play mostly in Northern VA. C3 (the monthly tournament) is in Sterling, VA I believe. Renegade (the one who runs it most of the time) actually lives in Richmond VA and there are a few people in that area that still play games. I’m sure you can get games on in Richmond if you don’t want to trek up to NoVA. However, all the tournament happenings are in NoVA so once a month you’d probably need to travel up there for more comp.
Other people can probably answer better seeing as they aren’t 6000+ miles away like we are.
Ugh, I still haven’t gotten quite used to the new 3S sticks at SF. Especially the 1P side. How Ek was beasting on it, I have no clue. >=|
i was a SF earlier today and was actually able to do what i wanted (most of the time at least) i can dash w/out going into down forward and can do 236 motions w/out jumping so there are definatly some improvemtn on those sticks.
i also got a winning streak for once
JESUS CHRIST!!! Sagat is even a beast in SF1. his fireball takes 75% of your life. and his tiger knee is super godlike its like 10 flash drives in one.

Nah, he doesn’t do message boards(after that one time, I wouldn’t blame him). He usually likes to keep a low profile online 'cause of probably either past happenin’s or he’s too busy playing RO or something. haha

Haha, that is some good shit right there. If the subs weren’t there…I would’ve never understood what he was saying.
He doesn’t really play to compete, but I seriously think he can if he puts some effort into it. He’s shown up in past C3 events mostly for casual play, though he did compete in the 3-man tourn a few C3s back(with me and Victor). From what I’ve seen, he’ll dig the local tournies, but it’s always a mystery if he wants to enter or not.
Yeah…if he was the Ibuki player doing all the taunting then yeah…he showed some promise but like peepz have said, he bitched out of singles for whatever reason. It’s completely up to him though. If you don’t have the drive to play in a tourney there’s nothing wrong with that. It’d be nice but…some people just don’t have that will to play in tourneys and just like to kick it in casuals.

DJ: If you’re talking about the C3 last month, he bailed on Singles because Crimson had a flat and wanted to leave early once it got fixed(this is also why I bailed too, since he was our ride).
finnaly geting in some wins guys, three quarters and 19 wins. granted most of them were mexs playing ken and ryu, but still its something. Played with crimsonvenoum though.

pablo got rid of my record when i had 10 wins against the mexs and random asian and black guy. I thought he was just some scrub that plays ken…boy was i wrong. It was pretty close though.

Yeah, thanks, same to you too. Yeah I’ve been in iraq for about ten months, got like two and some change left! I have a tv and my DC, PS2, XBOX and my SS! And pretty much all the SF games. I only have a stick for my DC which is cool, but I wish I had one for the PS2! Hey thanks for the info hopefully I will be able to get up to Nova for some comp.
