Shady Grove metro station is about 5-10 minutes from where I live. Just that it takes about 2 hours to get to Springfield station. So I should be there around or a bit after 6 pm.

Why is that ? I would like to know as well ? Was it because I helped pay for Alex Valle to come to VTYME 3 and that ultimatly stopped you from gaining the ticket to Evo ? Or do you think I am biased towards 3d games ? I try very hard to be equal to everyone, and I don’t try to be shady to anyone I meet.
Either way I respect your decision, but I would just like to know how you came to that decision, in order in the future, I can make the players that attend my events happier, and even possibly, gain back your respect.

With all due respect Jinmasta, your hypocritical claims of promoting growth within the tournament scene and your selfish acts didn’t go unoticed at the VTYME 3 tourney. I never had any issues with you prior to that tourney, regardless of the rumors that I’ve heard and read. Since then I’ve concluded that you shouldn’t run anymore tourneys and if you did, then I wouldn’t support you like I said.
The thing about bringing Valle and Combofiend here was one thing, but there was a lot more to it than that. I don’t want to go into any further detail about this so I’ll just leave it at that.

when C3 began holding tourneys w/o Jinmaster, he basically told them Robin to stop holding them. When Robin did not comply, Jinmaster held a tourney at Anime FX on the same day as C3’s first tourney by Robin(which he didnt even show up for).
Since then, Jinmaster, your credibility has gone down the drain.
What made it even more hypocritical, was when C3 was holding a sponsorship for 3S and Tekken, you finally gave it your “approval”, after C3 had established itself as NOVA’s monthly.
Jinmaster, I thought you were for the community but your actions speak differently. During ECC you ran a major, the same week of a major. All that talk about fuck Tekken 5.0, but after Evo’s prize pool was announced, nobody complained about not having DR at Evo.
There was so much money involved, why didn’t you try to stand up for the community(like you did at ECC) and try to have a game there that people actually play(like Tekken DR)?
And that trading card is mad pimp. But I’ll be damned if you sell that thing for more than $50 bucks.

Also, about World Series of Poker, no crap some amateur dude is doing well. Why? Because there’s a limit to how skilled you can be in the game. You learn the rules, you learn how to read people, you learn the likelihoods of various things and what to expect when, and then that’s it. There’s a ceiling on how strategic poker can be, and that ceiling is the random roll of a dice.

Poker is beyond skill. Most of the pervious winners(Moneymaker) got crazy lucky throughout the tourney. I remember him hitting his 2 outter with 5% on the river to keep him alive.
I’d say 40% skills and 60% luck.
Moneymaker was suspect, but Raymer and Hachem were both pretty damn good. It just seems like the field is way too huge now for bad players to last for that damn long. Obviously, the pros have less of a shot of making it through, but fuck, guys that call all-ins with A-10 can’t can only get lucky so many times…
Anyway, yeah White girls are the shit. They just can’t dance.

That quote is slightly incorrect, as it somewhat applies to tournaments, but not at all to cash game poker and in general you’re looking at “skill” the wrong way. This is not Street Fighter, where 1 tournament does mean something. If you look at any 1 poker tournament in a vacuum, its only 60% skill or so, maybe 50%, to do well in any 1 tournament you generally have to have some amount of skill but you always have to run well(ie getting lucky) However if we look at tournaments over the long haul, you see very consistent winners among the best. Doesnt mean there’s less skill in poker(actually there’s alot more of a ceiling in SF than in poker) The main event is a joke among poker players now, as the amount of people in it really makes it a crapshoot, the amount of chips you have to get before you’re in contention means you have to run very well. Saying poker has a strategic ceiling because of the main event is like me saying Law school isnt hard cause I watch Law & Order, its just ignorant.
