Fo real fo real yo. East Coast gonna hold it down at Evo. I got 10 dollar money mathces against 2 west coast peepz already (including Valle). I’ll definitely see you at Evo for some 3S/Slash casuals and let me know if you wanna do a 3S money match.
umthrfkr/Renegade: I have another guy that went to Evo East (Shibuya) that plans on being on my Slash team. He also would like to crash with us at one of our hotels. I told him if it was cool with you guys I’d tell him how much he would need to pay each night and he would be set. Let me know what’s good with you guys.
Sup guys! Just popping in to say hello, and to regale you with a story.
So I’m in London still, and my friends and I decided to go to Amsterdam. I forgot to bring my real passport with me on the trip, I left it in my London dorm room; all I had was a copy of the real passport. Luckily, it was good enough to cross the chunnel into France, and when we drove through Belgium and into the Netherlands, no one even bothered to check. Amsterdam was alright, etc. On the way back, just before the chunnel, the French checked my passport and it was again cool with them, but then the UK guys had to check us, and they refused to let me into their country. They threw me into a holding pen for a couple of hours and then turned me over to the French police, since this was still on French soil, and the French put me in another cell. I (illegally) took pictures of it even, I’ll show you guys sometime. The French were real cool though, the copy of the passport was still good for them, and they set me free. So then I went roaming around northern France for a couple of days while my friends back in London searched for my passport and overnighted it to me. Went to Calais and Lille, Calais is a nice little beach town and Lille is a very pretty city with old buildings and stuff. So, interesting trip.
PS I can’t imagine that Otakon wouldn’t be free money for, like, anyone reading this.
also, its not really free money since the prizes at cons get worse every year, dont even hope for cash.
that sucks about your amsterdam experience, i had some friends who had a similar experience, but they were carrying some gramsterdams, and like yea they got stripped search and some other shit. not a good look. no real penalty tho, they had to wait an extra day and get another bus back.
Tournaments need to get more expensive on the whole. There’s way too little money in these things. Plus the age of your average SF player is getting older, so he should have more money.
I think it’s worth a shot.
Hell, people are putting more money on poker than on SF, and most of us have been playing SF longer than poker, shouldn’t we be more confident putting money into that?
Fuck…do 20 bucks at S.Logan’s joint. I’m trying to win me some real cash. Yeah…Labor Day weekend tournament…definitely up that shit for 3S and bring teams back again as well.
im down for a $20 3s tourney. like hav said, if we are willing to put that much money into poker and people have just started while at the same time we have been playing street fighter for much much longer, we should be willing to raise it up a lil bit. go up to at least $15 first and see how that works out. if increased money doesnt make people strive to get better then nothing will.
The only reason people are willing to put so much money into poker is because everybody has a chance.
Bad beats are served more often in poker then it is in video game tournies, making everybody feel as if they were Johnny Ngyuen and foreign ass accent.
Ask that random asian dude who got 4th place because he basically got blinded out(he was bet out of every pot he was in).
