MAYFLASH XBOX 360 / PS3 / PC Arcade Fighting Stick V2 Compatible with Sanwa Parts out of the box 69$

I find that a little hard to believe. Sounds like you might be biased because you need to defend your purchase but you are making me want to try one out.

If you read into the thread, he bought it with a skeptical outlook, as did several other people. I haven’t bought one myself because I already have too many sticks, but based on the feedback here I would have no problem buying one if I needed another.

He isn’t being biased… He has the stick and has or has had the other sticks you mentioned. Sounds like you’re just being hesitant becuase of what mayflash USED to be. I played on Hori, qanba, and madcatz and what ever mayflash did this time around, they did it right. Even with stock parts it is pretty good. I just switched out the lever because I play tekken all the time.

I’d like to chime in on this. Considering that we are seeing this stick come out in different brands and models around the world (Gametech in japan, Venom? in EUR, Mayflash in US)… I should mention that we shouldn’t necessarily give credit to mayflash themselves… if I know anything about OEM’s, i would say mayflash, the company, is not responsible for construction and design of this stick. sure they may have taken part in some things about their version of this stick, but seeing as how many applaud the construction, design for the pricepoint (well not anymore), let’s not let the brand mayflash be a influence on opinions of this stick, because frankly they themselves did not make it, they just repackaged and re-branded it for sale here in the US.

the mounting system alone makes me wanna say qanba sold this design for other companies to make use of. haha. just speculating though.

If thats so, then mayflash releasing a ps3/4 version makes me scared for that sticks pcb quality if qanba still doesnt have one ready before evo.

So I can’t for the life of me get the vinyl to peel off the plexi. Did it come off easy for you guys? It’s solidly glued onto mine and I’m the least handy person in the world. Fudge.

edit: Yeah, so this is definitely not coming off. Using a scalpel to get something to peel from in the corners only yields tiny scratches in the decal. This is solidly glued on.

Take off the plate if you can (dont know anything about disassembling this thing) if you can and put it over a a boiling pot for like 20-30 minutes and the glue will be melted and youll be able to scrape it off. Or use a hair dryer for 30 to 40 minutes.

I tried to warm the vinyl with a hairdryer and scrape it off with one of those stove scrapers (not sure what they’re called in english). My plexi pretty much look like it’s been mauled by a bear (ceramic glass > plexiglass) and I’ve only done like a tenth of the stick in 30 minutes. So, for someone with little to no experience in crafting / someone with 50 IQ such as myself, I’d say switching the art on this stick is anything but trivial. I’ve mailed Mayflash about a replacement plexiglass and I’m just gonna leave it looking shitty. DEFEAT.

Steam will probably work better than the hair dryer.

Maybe, but I don’t think I’m up to it. I’ll visit the local glass shop monday and have them clean it up if I don’t hear back from Mayflash. On the plus side the template worked great. I laminated the art so I’m just gonna use the stick without plexi for now.

Yeah sorry guys, I did not mean to come across as rude. Being biased towards something you have bought is a natural, sometimes an unconsciously thing that we all do. It happens to me all the time. I wasn’t attacking him. It’s just that my common sense tells me that if a company that has made cheap products in the past puts out a new one that starts to sell for $60 it is not going to be on par or of the same quality as products that are put out by companies that have been selling well made quality sticks for a while. That is all. Like I said, he is convincing me to a certain point but we can’t always trust someones point of view or experience 100% because this doesn’t assure us that we will think the same once we experience it.

I see where you’re coming from though. Just to summarize my as-objective-as-I-can-opinion: Case feels great in a hefty kind of way. Good weight and solid feel (metal bottom). Buttons and stick are meh for me, but I can pull off all my MvC2-shenanigans. Plexi pisses me off and I wish I knew it was such a hassle, wouldn’t have bothered trying to switch art. PCB works great on PC and 360, no input lag.

Thanks @dddaaannnhhh , that helps a lot. I wish I would have known about it when it was $60. Would you mind taking pictures? The only pics I have seen have been from the manufacturer.

I don’t own a proper camera so I took a picture using photo booth on my old macbook, amazing picture quality inbound. For pictures of the inside, check a few pages back.

This is without the plexi since I botched it so bad and need to have it fixed up.

Nice, that looks pretty good. Thanks

How did you manage to mirror the picture?

Good question! Let’s just say I’m not very used to this photo booth-thing.

I’ve had mine for a bit so let me just add to this thread in case anyone reads it and is undecided.

For reference, I’ve only played on a Xbone TE2 and a Qanba Q1.

Cons:
-Buttons are straight doo-doo. I mean, they work well enough and if I didn’t want to mod the color scheme I’d keep them but RB/R1 started getting stuck after the first two hours or so. It doesn’t mess up my inputs but it is very noticable(maybe I got unlucky?).
-The ball top still has the, sorry if this doesn’t make sense, extra ring around it from where they cut it out of the mold(maybe it was just mine?). It doesn’t bother me or mess me up. It’s just a noticably cheap ball top. The stick itself feels good and is comparable to the Qanba
-The stick is not easily swappable(this was brought up earlier in the thread).
-Macro setting does make it banned in tournaments like Dark said earlier in this thread.
-If you sleep in shorts, like I do, and feel like playing immediately after waking up, the metal plate on the bottom is cold as fuck on your thighs.

Pros:
-Very weighty. This is a personal preference but I think the heavy-ness of the stick is a plus.
-The built-in USB cable is pretty damn long.
-Price.
-Did not have any compatibility problems with Mac(Fightcade), PC or PS3(and PS4, thanks to Gummo, for those that are interested in the padhack)

I am loving it. I knew I was getting a cheap stick and that’s what I got so I was not disappointed. I still have a way to go before I’m done with it. I still want to change the buttons, get rid of the macro and turbo buttons, cleaning up the plexi and getting some art under it or maybe buying an all new piece of plexi and going with 6 buttons. I’m wondering if I’d be able to commission an exact replica from some company?

Can someone give me info or link me to a thread regarding custom plexiglass? Does anyone know what size the “Start” button is? I think it’s something like 24mm but I’m not sure.

Alright, I’m probably missing something obvious but how the hell do you get the ball top off?

The other side of the shaft has a flathead screw slot. Grasp the ball and use a screwdriver on the other side.
