I really don’t understand the Arcana community dropping AH1 like a retarded baby right now.
The American PS2 release of the game in a few weeks is FAR more crucical to developing the US Arcana scene, and yet people are completely ignoring it in favor of the sequel of which maybe 10-20 people on this site will get to play in America on any kind of regular basis.
Well going from 50 people to 20 people in entrants at FRXI has to be somewhat of a sign, I mean the game’s never really had much of a community to begin with outside of the tri-state area.
That’s just my view on the matter. Chinatown Fair is getting AH2 this week, so I’m never bothering with AH1 again ;p.
The whole 50 to 20 thing had to do with the horrible time placement AH had.
It was one of the very last tournaments to start on Sunday night, after over half the people at FR had left on Sunday Morning or after 3S/GG/Marvel on Sunday afternoon.
I don’t think that it’s a sign that the community should drop the game. In fact, I’d say it’s the exact opposite. Arcana players should be promoting the first game MORE. It’s a miracle the game is getting a good US release and the potential to add new people to the scene is greater than ever.
Unless you’re saying that everyone outside of the Northeast who won’t have access to the game doesn’t matter, which would be the case if people don’t want the game to grow beyond a regional cult game…
venue fee 20 for 2 days? are we renting a ballroom the size of evo? n/m ill shut up. ingore me.
i like it being two days. having people travel this far for a 1 day tourney is kinda lame and not taking advantage of the extra day off so people can travel back isnt cool.
Question, if this is a 2 day event, would there be a lock in for both days if any? It would be great if I could come back at 5 am on Saturday night after getting off of work.
I’d like to think that, but then they got a whopping 96 votes in the poll too, and they were leading in numbers of pre-regs (compared to MB). 30 people not entering is a pretty big deal.
Yeah, they did get assed out on that.
I didn’t say the community was dropping the first game, I said I was dropping the first game. It’s just weird because the AH scene / community (I don’t really think there’s a community just yet) really is heavily focused in the tri-state area, and yet within the next two weeks we’ll have access to 3 arcade set ups for AH2 well within reasonable distance from another, two alone in one city (NYC).
I’m not saying that all, it’s obvious people are interested in the game elsewhere, I just won’t be helping out to promote AH1 is all, so you’ll have to see Arturo on that matter.
and NO SMASH!! i know that will take away from the oh so godly expensive venue fee, but they take up so much damn room, resources, and they are mostly wack
seconded. i think having them up front made the red bull girls afraid for their lives. now they gonna send guys cause no females are gonna come out. thanks gg.:mad::mad:unless that was gg’s plan all along. its a conspiracy i tell ya
Definitely making it out for this one. Please no Brawl!
Also can we sleep at the venue like I did at MAD? I fully intend to play 'til like 6am before getting my two hours of beauty sleep, and paying for a hotel just doesn’t seem worth it. Hopefully it will be warm enough for me to sleep in my car.
I will be there, regardless. Nothing will keep my white power out of this tournament, wrecking Eric Kim in CvS2.
One day, two days, I don’t care. Depending on how big it is two days is probably a better idea. Do brawl on one day so we can get some of the big room for other tournies though. I realized their turnout was huge compared to other games, but it felt kinda crappy playing ST on like a 9 inch TV in the front room.
anyways can we get like a discount for attending both days. like a $15 entry fee. maybe some more incentive for heads to show up. also will someone get some damn super pretzels.**
