Please bring your own controller. We’ll have 2 extra controllers on site, but the tournament will run a lot smoother if you can get your own. More setups are always welcome and appreciated, should the community to bring some more down.

All entry fees will be collected on the day of the tournament. Once we finish the first round of players, absolutely no one will be allowed to join the bracket. If you would like to pre-register your name early before Saturday, please email me at the address listed at the bottom. Guys, be sure to come early, because I want to be able to get the tournaments started on time, so we can get through it as quickly as possible without interrupting the other tournaments. It’s going to be a busy day, so feel free to come down early and warm-up before your matches!

If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask.

The MVC2 tournament and MMs were both exciting. Marvel always bring the hype, but it also brings the drama, I know a lot of the players got REAL salty after losing their matches, so we’re the community another shot to prove who’s got what it takes to come out on top.

SFAE2012 will run on 1 console cabinet, on ps3s. Along with one Arcade cabinet.

so they put a console on the arcade machine on the left hand side?

Are they both 50 cents a game now?

1 setup will be on the current AE2012 that Alex has on the Megalo arcade cabs. The other setup will be on the showcase console cab, where UMVC3 is currently at.

AE2012, during regular hours, will be 50 cents a play. During the tournament matches, they will be set to freeplay, so that you don’t have to pay anymore money to play your matches.

I’ll talk to Alex to see if it’s okay to set it to freeplay before the tournament starts, so that people can get a chance to warm-up.

Bump. Just to keep you guys updated, some changes have been made.

We will be adding 2 more additional console set-ups, where you’re free to use your own pads or arcade sticks. Depending on player turnout, one of the setups will be used for a tournament or casual stations. The second setup will be used to play SFxT.

We’re also going to be streaming and recording the matches on the main setup, barring any sort of technical difficulties.

Player cap has been increased due to the increase of set-ups from 32 players to 48 players.

Hope to see some of you guys there! If you guys up and show love for the tournament scene, I can promise bigger and better things in the future.

No mvc2 ? It sucks there is no love for the best game ever

If you guys are willing to show up for MVC2, we can have one. I’ve talked to several of the guys at the tournament today, and it seems like a lot of them are willing to join MVC2 and KOF13 tournaments if we hold them in the future.

It started off slow, but it turned out to be a really successful event. Results will be posted tomorrow.

For Marvel we had 10 players:

  1. yohanan
  2. Papa Shang0
  3. lightcao
  4. M3X E3LUN3Z
  5. Jonathan Lee
  6. Fernando
  7. Frank
  8. Johnny
  9. Danny Ortega
  10. DeathWish

Congratz to yohanan for taking 1st place! Papa Shang0 had some vicious Strider and Vergil play that allowed him to come up from Loser’s bracket to reset the match. It was a close Grand Finals, but yohanan eventually made some adjustments to take 1st. Awesome showing guys, and I hope to see you all for the next tournament.

For SF4, we had 18 players show up:

  1. Hugo101
  2. EddieC
  3. Jorge
  4. Art
  5. Ryan Shannon
  6. DatOneKid
  7. Miguel
  8. Andrew
  9. JP
  10. Kanon29
  11. JD
  12. Grande
  13. Arian
  14. Pedro
  15. Khanzama
  16. syncho
  17. Millertime
  18. eltrouble

I apologize for the tournament taking so long to finish. A few of the setups were taken away, and the ones that were left weren’t working very well. I’ll fix this problem for the next tournament, and I’ll make sure you guys have enough set-ups to play on. Despite this, we had an awesome tournament, and several exciting matches to finish it off. The top 4 players were all killers that gave each other great match-ups. Shout-outs to Art for putting on an awesome show, and making Guy look top tier. Congratz to Hugo101 for beating out EddieC’s Abel with his Rufus and taking the first place prize.

Thanks to everyone for showing up and lending your support. If you guys keep on showing up, we’ll continue to put out tournaments to showcase your talents.

Lastly, we had the ST crew show up for some OG action:

  1. Afro Legends
  2. syncho
  3. DNGR S PAPERCUT
  4. Hugo101
  5. DGV
  6. Voltech
  7. MuffinMan
  8. moocus
  9. eltrouble
  10. Millertime
  11. DJTeddyEddy
  12. Jorge
  13. JD
  14. EddieC
  15. DeathWish

Congratz to Afro for taking first, and showing us what a beast Balrog can be. We had a lot of killers in this tournament, but I was happy to see some newer players give ST a shot, as well as some of the SF4 players. Shout-outs to syncho, who showed up with some very solid shoto play, and fought a lot of good players to take 2nd. I hope you guys enjoyed playing on the set-up, and I hope that we can have another tournament in the future.

Overall, we had a pretty successful first tournament. There were a couple of rough edges that we need to polish out, but I think the tournament went as smoothly as it could. Next time we’ll do things bigger and better.

Thanks goes out to yohanan for bringing out his set-ups and equipment. Thanks to Eddy for helping to promote the tournament, do interviews with the top players, and helping to showcase the talented players that live out in OC. Special thanks to Alex, owner of Alex’s Arcade, for allowing us to hold our event there. He was extremely helpful and accommodating to our needs, and I hope we can continue to work together in the future to continue holding tournaments at his venue.

it was a great tournament. thanks for organizing it, hope this becomes a regular event!

Big thanks to everyone who showed up. I know the turn-out was less than our last tournament, but it was due to the fact that we started advertising for it rather late, and I apologize for that. We’ll definitely give you guys a early heads up before we hold our next event.

If you guys have any requests for introducing other games into our lineup, feel free to let me know. I know KOF is a big game at Alex’s, so if you guys are willing to join a tournament for that, I’m more than willing to help out with the brackets and advertise it. I am more than willing to hear any and all compliments, complaints, and suggestions that you guys can offer, so feel free to let me know.

I hope to see you guys at the next tournament. If you guys keep showing up, we’ll continue producing great events.

I’ll bring the madness next tournament.

Tell everyone to bring their quarters.
