Did I say you attacked me? No I did not. There you go again putting words in people’s mouth’s. I specifically mentioned @JohnGrimm and the convo you had with him. Like what is wrong with you?
Oh, come on. Having valid criticism about Max means we’re jealous now?
Cons
=Can be really obnoxious.
=Fakes hype.
-Spreads misinformation.
-A horrible fanbase.
-Acts authoritative regarding certain fighting games even if he’s wrong i.e his entire R.Mika exploration session where he didn’t respond to counterpoints to what he thought was right in regards to frame data, links, combos, etc.
-He passive aggressively touts his own horn? Not sure how to explain it but you know what I mean. You know that guy who just destroys so many noobs but when he loses one or two matches, he acts like he did fine but constantly brings up those losses because he clearly feels salty about them? He acts fine about his session but you can tell it affects him?
Pros
-Friendly.
-Genuinely likes fighting games.
-A good content creator.
-Willing to go the extra mile to help people out.
-Gives credit to players where it’s due, whether they beat him online or not.
-Has a good podcast voice. I don’t mind listening to his thoughts on fighting games. I like people who can articulate their thoughts well, whether its through writing or speaking.
-This one is the most important: He bridges the casual side of fighting games with the competitive. He is essentially what Purge is to Dota. Or what Day9 is to Starcraft. And so on and so forth. A figure like that is absolutely needed to increase the competitive scene so I won’t fault him for that.
No one is perfect. I think what he does is fine. He makes a lot of money and I’ll say he deserves it. You can tell me worked hard to get himself where he is but most importantly, I’m willing to congratulate ANYONE who can attract a large amount of fans to a genre that they didn’t know about or were put off from. The FGC isn’t the most popular scene but Max has been able to attract a lot of people to it with what he does. So props to him.
Uh do you have Alzheimers? or did you just conveniently forget that you explicitly said I’m attacking people? Or does attacking people not involve you somehow?
You seem to be the one with the memory problem as you specifically said “You think this is me attacking you?” when he was addressing you attacking JohnGrimm, which you did by accusing him of saying things he never said. You attacked JohnGrimm with fallacious accusations and when someone pointed it out you acted like they where upset that you attacked them and not JohnGrimm, again something they never said.
You need to go back to elementary school and learn some reading comprehension sir. See this is me attacking you, specifically your ability to read and comprehend what it is you have read.
Man never in my life did i imagine members of the FGC could be such a bunch of pussies.
Let alone try to use poor word choice to try and make me out to be the bad guy.
Also stop trying to sound smart, your just being pretentious. But you know what? This is entertaining. Go on keep trying to be right, I could use a good laugh.
I’m an avid follower of Max’s streams and videos, subscribed to his channels, and even donated once or twice to his stream. So yeah, you could say I’m a fan. With that said, I agree with pretty much what FatalSeabass had to say.
No one is obliged to like the content he posts. I will be the first to agree that some of his videos would strike some people as annoying, but then again, people keep asking for his reaction videos, so he just keeps churning them out. Some points he makes are also highly questionable (i.e. prefers the generic ninja outfit look of the MK ninjas instead of the original designs they have lately, picks characters based on looks, etc.) and trying to use big words to sound knowledgeable.
Do I think he’s any good? He is probably better than the average online scrub, but definitely not tournament caliber. Then again, Max would tell you the same thing during his streams, so he’s at least self-aware of his limitations. I like his streams because they look like a casual gathering of friends to play video games, complete with casual chat about random subjects, jokes, and harmless jabs. I personally like how he’s not trying to get into random feuds with other FGC players or even starting shit, just focus on positive stuff.
Again, if you dislike his content, that’s fairly respectable. His style isn’t suitable for everyone. Comments against him as a person though do seem kinda shady and slightly leaning towards jealousy, and unless they provide conclusive evidence of something Max did to them, I will just take it as petty hatred.
I dont know about that, everyone on youtube gets hate. Anyone who is well known will get hate, anyone whos on twitch or internet will get hate. Ive seen streamers get hate just for having long hair, or having colored hair. Trolls know they can get away with anything on youtube or twitch.
I guess that is what it boils down to You can LITERALLY be the best player in the world/nicest guy, and STILL catch shit. I think the best answer would be LULZ TEH INTRAWEBZ
You’re absolutely right. This is the last I’ll speak on this.
Yes I did say people. I was using it as a general term. Then I specified @JohnGrimm At that point I’m specifically talking about you attacking JohnGrimm. If you can’t comprehend that, that’s on you bruh. Also don’t get mad because you’re being called out on your stupidity. You think you can just say whatever and come at people any kind of way and no one’s suppose to check you for it? If we were pussies we’d let you continue your bullshit and say nothing. Just relax and check yourself bruh.
Anyway, I’ve personally been subscribed to Max’s channel for almost 4 years now. I first found him back when UMvC3 was just announced. I found his content back then to be enjoyable; the pre-release trailer breakdowns (especially the Ultimate Marvel ones), the Assist Me tutorials, etc. His content now definitely doesn’t carry the same luster to me; it’s mostly a bunch of yelling these days. Granted, I still watch some of them because Boss Rage is at least somewhat entertaining.
I’m sure Max appreciates your efforts and will give you a special shoutouts on his channel. Then he’ll invite you over and you can cosplay as mini Doom and get to pet the dog and he’ll make an entire “Assist Me!” episode all about you. Then he’ll slap you on the ass when no one’s looking, he’ll give you the eye and whisper “Any time.” it’ll be ambiguous because you’ll be thinking; “Hey, was he quoting Predator again? Or…”
