I mean it is what it is. Max has the Charisma and personality to entertain and bring in viewers and new players, especially the youngsters. While Mike Ross and Gootecks can provide the advice, tips/tricks, and knowledge while being a lil entertaining themselves. Bringing both of their talents together on one channel would be incredible and great for the FGC IMO.
You are aware that top players also can come with really ill informed opinions as well right?
Just remember that not many people can make the distinction between the things they like or don’t with the stuff that is good or not.
Plus is not like some top players have not shown some scrubby mentality in the past.
As good as players as they are I would never want Chris G and Fchamp opinions on a game. The former doesn’t articulate himself well and make up excuses whenever something doesn’t go his way. Fchamp is heavily bias and loves to shit talk other players over things he doesn’t like.
Max’s channel seems to be slowly drifting away from fighting games. All I ever see him playing is dark souls, the latest beta, or KI every now and then.
I’m speaking more to the time devoted to fighting games. Like aside from his street fighter legacy thing he did not too long ago it seems he is devoting less and less time to them. Honestly it could just be that he doesn’t like SF5 all that much, and couple that with all these popular new games getting betas I may just be overreacting.
Welp that’s the sucky yet great part of being human. We are not perfect. Even the best in a field or craft, can be wrong sometimes. But I’d like to thi k that those who are active competitors at a high level would be able to give more usfull knowledge than those who aren’t or have never competed at such a level.
No argument there. i’m not saying just let anyone on. Of course we should have “pro” players that know how to talk to a crowd in a way they understand, and is pleasant. Someone like Snake Eyez for example. Or the aforementioned Mike Ross and Gootecks
I think in general, the FGC community hates when our mouthpieces arent really knowledgeable or legit. Its a reflection of the community.
I think thats why a lot of top players-turned- commentators and community managers are more respected since they actually lived that life. Unlike Max, who panders to idiots on youtube with that generic animated d00dbro style of video edition and desperation for likes and thumbs ups.
It’s gonna be pretty interesting to watch the Excellent Adventures episodes featuring Filipino Champ. From what I could tell from the trailer, yeah, it looks like he’s gonna be particularly annoying.
Never had a problem with Max and co… i like the streams and vids… The yo video game crew reminds me of me and my old school buddies getting together and playing games back in the day… ‘snif’ the memories, fond times.
