You realize his reasoning is similar to SRK’s for NOT wanting to join MLG right? MLG would pay out a shit ton of money but we told them to go fuck themselves because of last time. I’d think that if he wanted money, all he’d have to do is say “Hey, let me do this for you” at a company and he’d get paid.

he has a point. there are many in academia who want to exploit talented and gifted people, to ends that are less than noble. he solved it for love/fascination of the sciences, but is unwilling to compromise his beliefs/integrity.
he may be poor and in squalor, but at least he has his soul.
