I see Chun v Karas being 5-5. Chun can kill karas if she hits him once, but honestly…if you’re playing karas, you should have way more opportunities to hit chun than she does you b/c of karas’s range. In fact…I would call a lot of Karas’s fights 5-5’s just b/c he dies so easily if he gets hit.
frustratedsquirrel i din’t really know about the others but a friend of mine who plays PTX and Lightan has very big problems against my Polymar. any unsafe move without baroque ends in a meaty throw super, and Polymar’s lvl3 works wonders against the giants
Man you don’t even play the game, why are you in here discussing matchups?
Karas can zone chun so easy it’s stupid.
Lol, Alex can grab Chun out of her lighting kicks.
Wouldn’t Ippatsuman be pretty beast against Morrigan? As long as he has meter anytime she tries dash near him he can just 623AB her. . .
If she does the quick version I don’t think it’d work. Regular dash, yeah though.
Doesn’t seem to me like Morrigan “instant overhead” dashing rushdown, when done correctly, is something you can anti-air counter on reaction…
b/c you guys play the game so much that it’s hard not to notice+roommates always practicing so I know about a few things or another+what I do remember b4 I just decided I didn’t really like the game.
Yeah I’m gonna second this one. If you’ve seen anybody good doing it, you know it comes out faster than you can do anything about on reaction by a ways. You could try predicting and hitting it, but if you fail, not only do you lose a super bar but you probably get punished.
I’ve seen some people use lows to hit her out of it…it’s usually just mashing but my friend beat some of my instant overhead attempts with a low with roll. Hit me before I even got an attack out.
Well that beat the dash and not the attack then. I think once your move is active it’s hard to beat it for sure.
So would you guys say Batsu is Karas’s worst matchup? Karas can’t just pressure him for free.
I still think that the block lock isn’t real. It might be theoretically possible, but advancing guard kills your block stun retardedly fast. The idea that you can see it happen, react to it, hit the button, have the attack come out and hit their block before it does so still seems iffy to me, so I’m going to say there’s a few characters who can break out of the pressure games, such as casshern, who can use that couple frames to throw out his invinci-knee attack for knockdown>super, or maybe souki, although his super armor moves are so slow you could probably just block them on reaction.
Other characters should be able to super jump, although that doesn’t really put them in an advantageous position, it’s more of a reset.
Yeah it’s been proven you can get out of it. I’m just talking pressure in general.
This is theory fighter, but I’m convinced that Saki, particularly Saki / Tekkaman, has the advantage in the Karas match-up (on point, at least). Karas was given a slow walking speed, so every match is started with Saki in her advantageous position; past half-screen. One move, HCF+A/B, locks down anything that Karas can do on the floor within that range (and you can also Baroque this move into big damage with one bar, and 100% combos with no more than 2 bars), forcing him to take to the sky to close the distance, and to be honest, Karas isn’t all that scary in the sky. She does the most damage in the game with 1 bar (I’ll elaborate on this in the Saki thread, but she averages 36K) which is two-fold against Karas, and she builds bar so quickly that if the Saki player does make that one mistake in her zoning game, she can Megacrash Karas? advances, forcing him a full screen distance from her and right back into the same position that the Karas player was attempting to escape. All in all, I can’t fathom, as both a Saki and a Karas player, what Karas can do to win this match consistently, short of closing the distance at the very start of the match (which is a task in and of itself) and forcing Saki into an infinite. What do you all think?
EDIT: And, I forgot, Saki can guarantee a minimum 25K, unMegacrash-able, Damage ON BLOCK, with the proper assists and 3 bar, which hurts Karas all the more in this match-up, and, if Karas is without 2 bars, 25K can be turned into 40K with ease, which equates to a dead Karas.
BTW, I don’t understand all this talk about being patient against Karas and you win. If he’s using the proper assist, he does have a realistic mix-up (just watch the BS that Kubo pulls off against Gian), and thus, a realistic means to open you up. Albeit, the whole low-block and you win rule-of-thumb versus Karas does apply well in a one-on-one scenario, but not-so-much when he’s backed by the likes of Ryu. Mind you, I’m not saying that this makes Karas unbeatable, or anything, as is evident by my former argument; I just feel that people are leaning towards two extremes, either Karas in unbeatable, or he’s a one-trick-pony, but he’s neither, his weaknesses aren’t as dire as they’re made out to be, and his strengths aren’t either. He’s solid, “Top-Tier” even, but that’s about.
Batsu beats Chun and Kara,if you don’t agree then you don’t know about Batsu power level! :wgrin:
karas beats everyone easy but another karas. karas is a threat to everyone.characters that do ok against him are chun, rockman and ryu maybe joe.thats it everyone no chance.
Actually, Tekka, Saki, Alex, Jun, Ippatsu, Batsu, Morrigan, Ken, and Yatterman all fight him well too.
if your playing a weak ass karas
I dont even know what to say to this. Good first impression
Have fun megacrashing out of the hyperbombs you gave me meter for doing absolutely no damage to me.
