id say more probable they go for sweep to place opponents in the corner, once there or after about 3 jabs is when the OH comes out!
if he dashes look for cues as he dashes…i forgot exactly how but there is a visual cue you can differentiate from OH, and sweep right after startup… i will reasearch.
Trick to blocking both is to block down first and switch to up really quick. The sweep hits immediately while the overhead has a pause and is delayed a few frames. So you SHOULD theoretically ultra him when you see ex flash or tatsu lol, but if you dont have those options block down and switch to up really quickly.
Fran-gil is a beast. Most Rogs are not on his level. He plays very smart and frame traps the hell out of you. You are in the corner most of the match or you are jumping around like an idiot trying to stay out of the corner. Dude is safe and aggressive…my downfall. My favorite way that he kicks my ass is when he gets me locked in the corner and then mixes up tick throws with jab, walk back, punish your lame attempt to tech, kongo, or get out with a flip. He’s ready for any of those options and doesn’t easily fall for dash in grab.
MrMartinez, I was in training mode this weekend, after you block the OH Dash, a good punish is c.lp x hk.tatsu for damage, I was also able to hit him with c.lp x lp.palm to send him across the screen. If you have meter cancel the tatsu into ultra.
Maybe with the ex.tatsu buff we can teach ourselves to throw it out on reaction to the yellow flash since he wont go under it with a low dash punch.
Outside range whiff c.lk> rh tat. The c.lk will stop rogs dash punch and turn punch and will cancel into rh tat. For max punish.
When rog has ex meter I like to change to c.lk> ex tat as this is fail safe. Ex punch will go through the c.lk and hit you if you do the rh tat since it has no invincibility
I was trying this out on Rog players and I was landing this pretty consistent. Rog can be hit by the Tat when he is crouching making this zone tool very effective.
