matchmaking SF4 = HORRIBLE!!!!!!

:mad:anybody know of any matchmaking updates:mad:

thanks, we didn’t know this until you told us. and no.

Exact same thing happens to me. Except when you beat someone at your range you get like 30 BP :arazz:

And what exactly are BP good for again? Oh wait… I see your MLG avatar, that explains it.

umm well they were suppose to show “rank”, but with all this cheating happening who knows if the top BP holder really holds that many points, that’s what im trying to come across apparently its hard for some people to comprehend.

my MLG avatar doesn’t really explain anything>? …
its just a avatar that says major league gaming big whoop…

rank whoring happens in every game, get used to it. and your MLG avatar suggests that you support MLG, aka the reason why classic competitive fighters are dying.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s that bad. I usually get all pretty decent matches pretty fucking fast, too. Although, you have to take into account that I don’t care about the BP of my opponent or my own. Go ahead and drop. All it’s gonna do is have me send you a mocking message. That’s all.

And because of the droppers, I don’t trust the leader of the BP Scoreboard. Only the leader of the Ranked Wins board.

Why would you care what rank you are anyway?

I didn’t think people played for “points” since the Atari days.

I think the matching is just weird the way you have to search for a match and then it does not work and you search again and again till the match works.

I like it better than HD remix though, where you have to watch people play for a half hour, then you have 2 seconds to play where you get stuck in a corner and die.

once you get around 2000s people start rage quitting. it’s not worth the effort to get points, i’d say it’s way better to support your local scene or network with tournament SRK players if you’re looking for comp.

Also, a huge LOLout to scrubs who play 30 second matches with 1 round.

Personally I don’t care about wins/losses, bp, whatever. All I want is for them to hide the character select screen like they do in HDR.

So I’m not the only one completely unable to join a match whatsoever? My only way to play is creating the match myself…

Do you have a restricted or moderate NAT? Because that’ll do it.

Run an Xbox Live test and see what happens.

MLG is everything that is wrong with gaming. And it explains why you care about rank and BP and people who support it are more times then not the worst type of gamers there are.

Anyways. To find matches easy.
1)Open your NAT. Google it. If all the lobbies you find have blinking network icons theres a good chance your NAT it closed or moderate.
2) Go to custom search, set all fields to any, as soon as it loads press “up”(so you are on the lobby at the bottom) and press “A” right away. That should get you in like 90% of the time.

i upgraded the firmware on my netgear router, and i’m not strict anymore. i do still have the ports forwarded so perhaps a combination of both helped.

i can actually see everyone’s latency bars now. previously when my NAT was strict, i had to guess and just go into whoever i could connect to for some ranked/player matches.

For anyone paranoid that SF4’s horrible match making is their router or connection:

No, the matchmaking is just broken.

You will get “Unable to play!” like 9 out of 10 attempts to join a game.

At least “Game is full” makes sense. I dunno what “Unable to play” means.

I am not using a router. I’m going direct from DSL modem to Xbox Live, never have any firewall issues with other games because I have no router/firewall, and SF4 just plain keeps crapping out on all join attempts.

And yes, the only reliable way to play is to create your own match, for whatever reason.

Not even that part makes sense. Because it says “game is full” and yet when you search again it still comes up on the list. PATCH PLEASE, preferably with HDR’s matchmaking.

Easiest thing that I have found to getting matches to actualy work in XBL for ranked or not is to host games if you have a good connection. I did that all last night and was in games within 10 to fifteen seconds without problems.

I am so amazed this thread isn’t closed already.

Has Capcom acknowledged this at all? The awful matchmaking is totally ruining SF IV online play for me. And yes I have a fast cable connection and my router’s NAT and port forwarding are set up properly.

Damn, I just had a long day, and wanted to relax with some SF IV before bed. I guess I’m just pissed that 90% of my time is spent trying to get into a match rather than actually playing them.

:frowning:

People still care about the BP and ranked matches…lmfao. No one is ever good in Ranked Matches…if you want competition go play Championship and get to G1
