Creating a game you cant choose any match making filtering more than location and other non essentials for the game.
So we’re only left with the poor search function which has “same skill” and some other different options. So if you care to spend the immense time it takes (for me at least) to find a 3 bar connection with someone who is “same skill” I could meanwhile have played 5+ games.
The problem is that no one, and I mean almost no one searches same skill, especially not the high ranked which is even odder because when I host a game I could play streaks of way too high ranked all day. So why don’t they search same skill when there’s obviously a large amount of high ranked players online?
Instead I have to wade through an seemingly endless amount of taunting, trolling high ranked players somehow enjoying the curbstomping +1pp/bp games they go through.
I can’t for the life of me understand why the create game doesnt have the match making settings but the search functions has, it’s a painfully easy way to curbstomp the poor rookies who end up in priv-endless games because they fair even at perhaps 1/10 matches tops in ranked.
Does anyone know the reason for this?
Same goes for connections, you should be able to set a minimum connection requirement as in most PC games.
The whole matchmaking system including the netcode is made only with Japan in mind where it works just fine.
You’re just fucked if you live somewhere else.
So in Japan you can set the match making settings when creating a game?
I mean the system is ridiculously flawed, you can host but not set the MM, you can search and set the MM, thus ending up with incredible few ppl willing to host the games.
the problem is if you are high enough ranked using same or more skilled is mostly blanks so you just join whatever is a green bar connection basically.
Hate to disappoint, but matchmaking is a moot point because the ranking system is worthless in the first place. You’re going to have to settle for “good connection”, regardless of player skill.
I have to agree with this. I mean, I know I’m far from great, but I think I surprise people n the 1000-2000 PP range when I get in, with my whopping 300-500, and fight them to a standstill, or even win a round. A lot of the time I’ll just throw away 500 PP or so in a day, learning a new character. But having 8 or 9 C ranks, I have a lot more experience than you might think just looking at me when I join in.
Then again, the only time I can’t find someone to play with who doesn’t just stomp me is at about 3pm on a weekday, PST.
