As you’ve found out, Demon after blocked SA3 from Ken is very easy to do. Why don’t people do it all the time? Few reasons:
For draining the two bars, you’ll get about 71 hits of damage. If its a sure kill thing like in my vid, then you might as well do it as a show off
If it doesn’t kill, then one can go for the reset KKZ combo which does slightly more damage than the demon.
Otherwise it’s best to go for Bread and Butter, or reset after the hurricane to try and carry on the damage. Maybe super cancel the BnB combo for a few extra hits of damage. What I do sometimes - rest the opponent after the lk hurricane, then set them up for a demon e.g. reset, whiff a quick poke, dash demon OR reset, dash, standing lk, kara demon OR reset, walk up, HK sweep which you cancel into demon if they block and try to retaliate OR etc etc… you get the picture.
People have been posting xbox live vids randomly, and in my opinion, most of them are not that great. As for the Malaguena vids, lets not even go there  Anyone who watched them could see the blatant amount of lag, and at how that messed up my ability to teleport out of the denjin (I NEVER bother trying to parry it cos thats an unnecessary risk), as well as parrying his full screen hurricanes (wtf???). So dont take anything from those vids - they were pure lag.
Funnily enough though, I had a set recently against xbl’s best player - Exodus, and in spite of the lag, the set was very good and most of the people who watched it were very impressed. And even though he beats me 11-0, I feel proud that I managed to fight back as much as I did. Check it out:

So all of you have seen my matches against Peaceman. I’m assuming most of you managed to download the videos from RB 7 which was probably the day when I was on ‘OVER THE’ top form. All my games were pure rush down and demons that day and the crowd loved it :wgrin: If you guys haven’t seen those yet - just let me know and I’ll put them up on that site as well.
PS - that is not my site, I’ve been using it because another guy on this board (Just_D_it) gave me permission, so kudos to him for the effort he made.
i loved the matches against peaceman. The commentary made it seem like i was watching a cricket match. too good!
Oh yeah something else i need to mess around with. after short hurricane and reset, basically kara demon… but use the sweep as the kara “motion”. Im not sure how well this works, but basically if you demon right after a reset, people will jump… but turns out if you time it right, people will see the sweep after the reset and block low… but no blocking for you! Im going to have to mess with it. Might have to dash after the reset or something… but yeah basically jab, jab, d/f+roundhouse, short, fierce
L33t - for the demon to work of a ‘kara’ sweep the way you described, people wont see the sweep cos everything will come out too fast. Do it even simpler - let them block your sweep and cancel it to a demon when they retaliate. Another thing (SOMEONE DID THIS TO ME!!! THE INFIDEL!!!) is after the reset, go for command overhead (f+mp), and let the whole move whiff over them, but cancel the final recovery animation into a demon. This works because it looks like the overhead will hit, but time it right and it almost looks like it goes THROUGH the opponent. When they finally realise that it didn’t hit them, and that you’re right next to them recovering - they will almost definitely try to throw you.
Was that me that did that Demon! nah! just kidding… You can demon after some super arts (except grabs) but I got more people when I block there supers and sometimes people fear that you can do in on the wake-up! lovin it!!!
i’ll try the whiffing kara overhead. the blocked sweep demon is one of my fav. setups. I get wayyyyyyy to many people with that over and over again (its kind of sad really). but ok, i’ll definitely mess around with the chop whiff.
Its actually weird as to how many different 50/50 demon setups there are with Akuma. By 50/50 I mean that if they didn’t guess right, they WILL be demon’d.
For example, you saying how its kinda ‘sad’ the way you land the blocked sweep demon - same here, which is kinda why I stopped using it. But at the end of the day, its a brilliant setup. People will almost always try to punish a blocked RH sweep.
Same with the cr.lk, kara demon or dash demon setups. Unless people KNOW that the demon is about to come out, they WILL get caught by it - or unless they do something random like sticking out a dragon before the overhead cancels into demon. Usually they will keep blocking or get ready to tech throw.
Simple kara demon as people wakeup. This one is just too sickeningly simple and cheeky :bgrin: Its almost like being Hugo and doing a standing Gigags on someone as they woke up! Knock them down, stand at kara throw range. As they’re waking up, whiff an attack over their head - I go for standing mp (buffering the two lps in it), then after they’ve woken up, you do the overhead. The only thing that will save them here is a wakeup move or jump. Again, its a gamble - usually in Akuma’s favour. Hard to do if they quick recover. I actually did this at a Ranking battle semi final once, and the crowd didn’t even know if they should cheer or not because of how overly simple the demon looked!
Anti-air demon depends on what character you do it on. Works best on Shotos I think.
[MANY MORE]
I’m sure the opponents will not remember every one of these 50/50 setups - which is why its so easy to land a demon in 3s.
yeah thats why i love demoning. Ive started using my bars for regular supers a lot more than i used to (i hunt like crazy for the short short super). The 50/50s are the only way to go. One of my fav. setups at first used to be the wakeup demon (as in akuma demoning on wakeup). Now people just jump everytime im knocked down with 2 bars.
If you have the two bars, you’ve been knocked down and the opponent is close to you - watch for the infancy of their jump and do a kkz. Then look at them and say ‘Jump that bitch’ :nunchuck:
kkz, thats ddd+pp right? Either ways, i do that occasionally(though not in serious games) but ive been screwed over by that plenty of times. Between the start up time and the move actually coming out (and i do it on wake up) the person has enough time to land and block… and then own me. sometimes the opponent will jump in a weird way and pretty much land in the eye of the super… basically leaving them unharmed.
The ‘landing in the eye’ thing has happened to me a few times as well. Bloody annoying isn’t it
KKZ should be used on wakeup if you see the infancy of their jump as you’re waking up - hopefully if they arent in that weird position, the super will hit them while they’re airborne. If they’re already getting air when you’ve woken up, then that is very bad timing from them - time an anti-air demon for their landing reception!
Just a quick heads up before you read the official results and see the vids.
Just came second in our Ranking Battle number 9. I lost to the Peaceman 3-1 in the finals  His Ken was incredibly solid today and I couldn’t really get in. When you see the vids, you’ll see what a good job he does of blocking my rushdowns, and just getting one poke linked to super to drain my bar. Very clever playing from Peaceman.
But I didn’t lose any of my other matches which is a first. The vids will be available after the SBO qualifiers in Germany, so just over two weeks to wait.
i’ll be waiting in anticipation
atb - each of the video links took me to a Japanese webpage which I couldn’t really find my way around to get the vids. Any ideas?
There are underlined links in the middle of the page
Yeah they are the underlined links. Should be six of them.
hey all, i’m new to the site and i was lookin for advice about akuma. i say he’s a good all around fighter and he’s got good speed. so yeah, anyone got any vids that’d help me out or just vids with akuma that’re awesome’ll do.
