Nice pressure game by Tatsu. Thanks for posting.
It’s “EL VRTICE” :wgrin:
awesome match
Nicely played. Reminds me of my own playstyle… st.lk, kara throw, cr.mk, st.mk… lp hitconfirms. Very nicely done!
Dash to hk was mainy as fuck and I loved every second of it.
If I’m reading the chart correctly, st.HK startup is 4 frames and 110 damage whereas throw is 3 frames and 120 damage. Why wouldn’t you do dash throw, it should be a better option?
Edit: Wow. I haven’t read Vega’s wiki page here for a while. A lot of stuff has been added. Good stuff! Thanks to whomever that contributed.
Atraca matraca !! Que grande xD me he partido de risa con este vdeo.
Thanks a lot, this was a nice video, and a great tutorial vs El Fuerte
Are there any plans to redo the video thread? And maybe have it so that the first posts updates so it has all the videos on it?
st.HK catches people who jump.
Seriously, Tatsu is a brilliant player.
He has certain qualities that Makoto and the others lack, I don’t know, he just has a way to get into your head and really make you question your own skill. He just makes you think, “Am I really losing to Vega?”
He held down back for a brief second (just long enough to see the animation) then did a cosmic heel while still buffering the charge, and then did a EX SHC cross-up.
When I saw this the first time, I thought:
“wtf! How did he charge the SHC? When?”
I had to stop the video and watch it three times to figure out what he had done. To the normal eye, you tend to dismiss the downback because it’s so brief, and then the cosmic heel keeps Vega’s frame upright and moving forward so it looks nothing like a charge and fools you in to thinking he has lost his charge, and then “BAM” out comes the cross-up.
Genius.
Did you play both Makoto and Tatsu?
Nope.
I wouldn’t have to play them to know that losing to Vega messes with your head. You can just tell by the way his opponents act. Tatsu totally took Kai out of his element, he looked lost for lack of a better word. He didn’t let Kai get his offense going, which sapped his confidence away especially towards the end of the match.
I’ve never really seen Makoto do that, he usually just uses his skill to overwhelm people. But w/e I’ve never played them so maybe I’m way off
Mh, so it’s just a sensation of yours. Oh well…
sensation lol
JDH, didn’t he do what you do for a cosmic heel > ST. You charge as he is turning around to kick.
I really liked the 2 crouching jabs into the ex shc. It’s perfect cuz most people expect you to do the ex wall dive and block, only to have you jump behind them and get a free reset. It’s nearly impossible to detect if your close to the corner. I did it in a few matches online and won cuz of it!
And eddie, prolly not. It’s a lot to go through all the vids. If you want you are more than welcome to make a list of ALL the videos in the thread and maybe send them to the OP so he can post em. Or post another reply on here with all of them listed and we can all kind of go through which ones should be on the front page and which are crap (no offense to anyone).
Except st. lk block-strings just get raped by SRK spamming.
The input is too lenient. You can do a cross-up barcolona, the opponent can be spamming D/F/ in the opposite direction and STILL auto-correct + hit you.
Dunno who this Vega is but he’s real good!
First: VS DAN, CAMMY, VEGA
Second: VS RYU, VEGA, RUFUS
Yeah sorta, but he was walking forward/advancing before he crouched then went to cosmic heel. It was all so fast that if you’re not paying close attention your mind just tends to see forward animation and you think he lost his charge. Kinda like when Blanka steps forward on you when you are close and you know you can jump in with better chances than when he had Vert Ball charged.
I play Vega a lot and the first time I saw it I thought “when did he charge?” so I figured a non-Vega player would make the same mistake and be baited into thinking he didn’t have a charge.
I also noticed he mixed up the blocked cosmic heel into throw setups with a blocked cosmic heel neutral jump, which would cause a lot of players to whiff a throw tech. That is something else I took away from this video to add to my play.
I duno, watching how he handled the Vega’s and cammys says he’s kind of whack. He may be a good player, but not a great vega. He jumped in and wall dived on cammy way too much. You should pretty much almsot never do that on cammy. And he did his super in both vega matches. all vega has to do is air grab or backflip, cr.mp, ex izuna. And he always did a slide after dfhk which is ok, but ST will do more damage and leave him in pretty much the same spot.
He didn’t seem to make too many god decisions. The other 2 vega’s he played seemed more impressive to me.
yeah i played tatsu for a bunch of matches before and if you dont have a srk that goes up, he almost always neutral jumps at you and on your wakeup.
And yeah it could be confusing to some ppl, Iguess were lucky enough that the df kh gives us enough time to charge most of our moves
