Mh, really, there is not much of a difference between landing j.hp cr.mk Izuna and j.hp cr.mk cr.lp Izuna.

Don’t know about you, but I like to stick to one type of jumping attack pattern, then mix up as they block. The problem with j.hp cr.mk is that even if you see it’s blocked you can’t do much of a mixup afterwards as opposed to cr.lp cr.lk which can be followed by a kara throw (or maybe I missed something here? Can you kara throw after j.hp cr.mk?). Although it does a bit more damage indeed on hit. It’s not always about that though.

you can kara throw after c. mk. take one step forward after your c. mk and kara throw immediately and it connects

Why would you add the cr.lk instead of another cr.lp? With some characters having the low hit is important, but with vega, losing his +1 frame advantage makes it decidedly disadvantageous, at least when I use him.

Oh, that was just an example. Of course it’s smarter to do cr.lp because it gives you 1 frame of advantage.

c. lk always combos into scarlet terror on every character whereas another c. lp pushes them out

and connecting with a scarlet terror means all of your mix ups and offense is made ready

Actually saved me a LOT vs a good Fuerte user because he kept running over my body when I rolled, so his mixup wasn’t as spot on. :rofl:
(So yes, Fuerte can command-run over your roll too lol)

How do you block it correctly?

You have to pay attention to how far Blanka moves forward before he does his ultra. On certain characters, he has to move forward more than with other characters. Still though, it’s pretty ambiguous at times (it’s hard to tell how far forward he moves. Sometimes when he moves forward, he still wont cross you up). And if Vega has about 20-25% life and blanka knocks him down, and he has ultra, Vega is dead no matter what.
