I was very impressed with the level of skill he displayed, generally pad players don’t frequent our community so no one was prepared for Huck. Unfortunate luck in the first match (not on video) and only just losing against Boxer eliminated him from tournament.
i whip a Abel player today in championship mode, he had almost 50.000 point and he quited before is was over and that spolt the rest of my games
i hate fighting Balrog (a good balrog 80/20):crybaby: that match up is a bitch i would rather fight Blanka which it is 50/50 for me.
Balrog is my worst match up:crybaby::mad::annoy:
the guy uses lot of ST light to Ex which i think i should put in my game over all he is a good Vega player
Vega strong RCF stuff dhalsim ultra n Vega ex RCF stuff Abel ultra if u use it against opponent they will be surprise
chun-li is 50/50 jump over her fireball if she walks up to u, combo or throw i prefer throw should in case she jumps toward me i will get there first (air n ground throw) , safe meter for ex Sky High Claw because chun likes to walk back bait, focus of dash back on Hazan Shuu also bait ex bird kick DON’T get trap in the corner limit FB (i like to use it to change side) ex roll goes through her fire ball thing.
Guile NEVER get trap in the corner or jump in while guile is charging down. i have notice alot of guile dont like vega in there face.
Barlog is a BITCH again NEVER get trap in the corner:smile:
I really appreciate all this help, trust me I do. but don’t get trapped in a corner is something that all vegas should try to avoid against all characters at all times. Some are easier to deal with in the corner but when vega is cornered it is just half dead since we don’t have good options to get out.
Vs Chun, thanks for the focus dash Hazan Shuu recommendation. Because of her fast low strong, I always have a habit of blocking low against chun when I see a fireball, and then I am still too slow to react to a Hazan Chuu. Some of the good Chuns I played against (or i just suck too much against chuns), don’t even use the fireball as an offensive shield much, they have way too many ways against me, and when I make one mistake, low lk*3 into lightning legs… I feel like i don’t understand the footsie mechanic against chun too well. I mean i still can’t figure out how to punish or counter hit their empty jump into downward split kick into cr strong. I just have too much trouble getting a good spacing in. When I do get in a distance I feel i am far enough to poke without getting punished, I still get tripped by the low strong. it seems like it has the same range as our cr mp.
Vs Guile, I feel scared when I am in his face. He has a good chain of moves that challenge your guessing games. I feel his overhead plus fast low jab/kicks allow him to be on par with vega’s fast pokes and then some (the overhead is too fast and connects with his other moves). when in mid distance, his sonic boom would block stun u enough to allow him to jump closer (or is it because of my internet lag that I could never get my scarlet out right after I block?). But luckily reading through the post today, I learned that I can ex scarlet through the fireball when it is close to me. The Guiles that I have an easy time with is the less aggressive types (not the turtling type either!).
Balrog I just go aggressive and hopefully I win the guessing game. so far it is less than 50/50 and I always just lose by a small margin because his low jab*3 link into headbutt and then juggle into ultra.
at least it is a vega! i think chun is a whore but I enjoy watching a good one does her thing. it is very flashy and fast which is what makes street fighter exciting.
ppp to ultra worked the first 4 weeks this game came out. most of the people stop throwing fireballs right away when i get ultra, sigh my pretty claw scratches.
Wish the ultra starts up with an ex fba and then juggles into ultra with ultra motion in the air, i think vega will jump up to mid tier instantly loool. Even if it requires a meter to launch ultra I will take it any given day rather than keeping it the way it is right now.
Well, I haven’t seen any vids in here for a little bit…
So I guess I’ll throw some of my own in. :bgrin:

As you can probably tell (off how sloppy everything is) I don’t play Vega anymore. That said, this was taken at a local 5v5 team tournament yesterday (Monday). Luckily, I was teamed with Valle, so we ended up taking in. But not without Tatsu standing in the way. He nearly OCV’s our entire team, gets to Valle, it comes down to pixel health, and Tatsu barely loses. I’m telling you all, if you could have seen that sexy bastard play yesterday… those were the videos that should have been recorded!
Anywho, aside from me being horrible at this game now, I guess there are some things for you guys to note:
Try to pay attention to the very specific distance I play against each match-up
That psychic ultra at the end of the first video wasn’t really psychic. I anticipated him pressing a button or moving or jumping, so as I jumped backwards I already had the charge and was going to into the motion, and as I landed I looked to see if his character moved, it did, so I just hit the kicks to react. That’s a neat trick for pulling off Vega’s ultra against people who are moving around on the opposite side of the screen. It gives you a 1 input reaction. I’m not sure if that’s the correct way to phrase it, but I’m hoping you all understand what I mean.
Always punish wiffed moves. Notice I failed to punish several things in my matches, and it lead to me losing life/lead/round.
My Style of playing vega is the same :bgrin: except that i can’t freaking do the focus dash cancel ultra :annoy:(i play on pad) really good game the blanka damage in the end of the last video is heart breaking that’s more than head stomp
i can do focus ultra with guile but not vega except lv 3
Aside from some missed combos and the ever obvious EX SHC at the end (both of which I’m guilty for T_T), it didn’t seem so sloppy. I wish we could see Tatsu though…
If that was sloppy play, then I just need to quit playing Street Fighter. That was good shit. I would have folded under either of those Blankas badly. I haven’t seen any videos in months and months of Tatsu or Makoto… Or any high level Vega’s really until your vids, Bebop. We needs 'em!
I’m not sure if I quite understand this and I can’t test it out right now since I’m not at home. Did you:
-Jump backward. While you were jumping backward, you immediately held down to begin a charge for the ultra. As soon as you landed, you did the motion for the bloody high claw and you pressed the 3 kicks since you saw Blanka move.
OR
Did you charge the ultra like normal THEN jump backward? Because you had already held the charge when you were crouching, was the charge “stored” (like when someone charges and then dashes into the ultra)? And while you were in the air you were doing the motion for the bloody high claw and you timed it so that when you landed, all you had to do was press all three kicks?
Sorry if this sounds confusing, but I’m eager to try this out when I get a chance.
