Yeah team Canada wasn’t really at it’s best this year at CGC. So were a lot of favorites in TGS. This kind of things happens often lately. =)

Ok, I think there is a move all vega’s haven’t exploited especially in certain match up

Wall Jump.

many of us exploited it already. after a back throw out of the corner, a wall jump hp is a safe jump. a lk is an unblockable on fei long. on mid screen, if both opponents are at the very edge of the screen, vega wall jump mk can reach someone trying to fireball, but that won’t work, cause you have to wall jump before he throws it out and there’s no way a good player will stay max screen away from you

Wall jump jiHP after a backthrow is gimmicky. Its NOT a safe jump as you stay in the air for 6 frames, so even Reversal with 8f of startup can beat you. The only thing that make it good againts some reversal is the trajectory, but there are a ton of moves that will beat it.

hmm, i meant to say safe as in it can’t be dp’ed by anyone. now that i think about it, i wouldn’t do it on deejay or blanka, haha. that’s all i got. not sure who else can beat it

Rose, Chun Li, Guy, even Sakura’s crHP comes to mind.

oh yeah, chun and guy. hmm, didn’t know soul throw would hit. apparently the claw just misses sakura when she crouching, dammit. oh well, jump jump on them with hp then, haha. 4 frame safe jump ftw!!! throwing people out of the corner is weird.

Any ideas/comments especially for the Adon matchup which I consider pretty bad for Vega are more than welcome (what can work particularly well etc).

you’re letting him get in with them jaguar tooths. st.hk that shit. if usf4 drops with cr.hp having longer active frames, than use cr.hp

First, props for your performance at that tournament (specially against the Sagat, this guy felt lost at the end ^^).

About Adon MU, I also think it’s not in Claw’s favor, and I’m struggling as well. It’s a good thing for you that your opponent lost confidence at the end, and started to tick throw systematically instead of Jaguar kicking.
— About Jaguar tooth, sHK can be useful indeed, but depending on the angle, on could prefer to make them whiff by backjumping (as soon as you see the Adon going up) with a delayed bjHP as punisher
— Jaguar kick : your whiff punishes were a bit shy. If you notice the Adon does use them to move forward, you can walk and whiff punish with sHP or cHP. The good thing being that if you’re late, those would also stuff a second Jaguar kick.

Your opponent did not whiff any of them at first encounter though (at the second, I think he choked somehow). I wondering if we couldn’t counter those with normals; just like you did with sMP (was that intentional ?). sHK might do the trick as well, hitbox on jaguar kicks aren’t specially powerful (EX put aside).

About the tick throw/jaguar tooth mix-up, Reiketsu usually goes into HK-ST to beat both, but that only works until the Adon adapts his mix-ups. bjHP does helps too if you don’t have a charge, though being as risky. I guess there is no ultimate answer, the think being avoiding that situation as much as possible. =)

Thanks for your advice guys. Indeed s.hk works quite reliably against jaguar tooths, usually C-hitting him with its second hit for 88 dmg.
If you react by jump back, j.mp seems to be more reliable in hitting than other normals.

I guess when your say tick throw/jaguar tooth mix-up you meant jaguar kick Trias. This is quite formidable against claw and aside from frame traps, ST and jump back will also lose to uppercut fadc from Adon which is likely to do especially when he has ultra. Backflip obviously doesn’t work too if you are in the corner.

i missed that makoto session :frowning: so i’m glad i saw this!! do you guys remember those unblockables on ehonda and blanka? i forgot the setups for it, but i would like to mess with it in the labs (as impractical as it might be, haha). ones i already jolted down are fei longs, makoto and seths. only fei long is practically useful.

I dont have it recorded, but its Izuna Drop that leaves Honda in the corner, dash forward, jiLK.

I can’t remeber the amount of delay between the dash and the jump, but as far as I remember its about a 1~2f gap.
