@0:36: Well, only Makoto can pull jump-in Ultra 100% of the time
I always wondered: does it take you a long time to get to all these Northern California Events (and therefore money),or do you have the luck that all the tournaments we europeans can only read about are right in your neighbourhood?
LOL yeah I kind of second-guessed myself and screwed up the jump HP>U2. Need to practice it more.
And yes, I live in Northern California and most of the events are practically right next door to where I live. The only ones that are somewhat of a hassle to get to are the ones in the North Bay in cities like San Francisco, San Rafael and Petaluma. We have like two weeklies going on currently in the South Bay and we always bigger monthly events around here as well. Iāve been getting better at saving money for these events since I have a decent full-time job as well
Nice Izuna loop man. I do specially like to pull it out against characters whose reversals would normally be OP, but who can be beaten without too much problems by crossing them up.
Just fyi: makto went live again earlier today, and since he still deletes his archives rather quickly, once again here is the link to download the stream as long as it is online:
heās also trying to see if he could cancel the kkk flip to a special move, similar to how vryu uploaded that video oh him using makotoās first frame of invincibility of the dp and cancel to the karakusa to stop 4 frame safe jumps. the difference here is that i donāt know if KKK flip is considered a special moveā¦
Well I didnāt saw it working for a couple of minuts (I must admit I skipped some parts). If what Iāve been told is true there are several reasons for it not to work :
ā KKK flip isnāt reversable (must be the only move in the game that has this property =o)
āĀ most of clawās special moves arenāt EX/Super cancelable, and only normals are throw cancelable. Makotoās Ā« EX overhead Ā»can be super cancelable, so that might explain why they can cancel this move.
I thought he was trying to OS KKK flip/EXFBA in fact. But that would still be a bad idea IMO. ^^
Other thing I saw were izuna drop fsLP into safe jHK, but that may be an adaptation to makoto waking up a frame earlier⦠or a fake-jump, 'cause it would be too early against most of the cast. Unless delayed of course. Iāll take a look at the rest. =)
he did make it work, but once out of like 5-10 times. he was clearly frustrated. he escaped out of ryuās sweep to j.hk safe jump. itās so much harder since the kkk flip isnāt reversalable.
i wouldnāt say tk feints are hard since tk itself is āreversalableā which gives it a bit window to do the tk early, and do the fient right when you get up, or even a few frames later.
Ive been playing around with this idea since vryuās post. With vegaās sucky hitbox on his specials, the lack of armor, no invicibility and long startup on his specials I didnāt even consider trying it on wake up but I really hope someone finds some new get-up options 4 us.
One thing I was trying though I cant seem to get working is to use his ability to cancel a normal attack into kkk flip and cancelling the kkk into an ultra.
What I have in mind is Jhp>clHPxxkkkxxUltraā¦Based on the frame data this should connect once kkk flipxxultra is possible.
The exfba application u guys are playing with could give us some awesome new options off crmkxxfba that will combo only on hit and frame trap on blockā¦
If I come up with anything ill be sure to postā¦Time for lab work
Personally, I do not consider it proven yet. EX Oroshi is supposed to be cancellable according to frame data, and flips arent. But Iāve learned to respect Nethās ideas (and Makoto0124ās of course), so Iām not saying it is impossible either, even if Iām not convinced.
The problem with Makotoās training-test protocol is that it is unadapted : at wake-up KKK flips fails to start because not reversable, and on the ground without being attacked it is hard proving the flip has effectively been canceled (over FBA just coming out without flip). So if the attack is perfectly meaty, then flip startup will fail ; if itās early or late if will just whiff by itself.
So to ascertain this, we would need to try it against an attack that is not performed at wake-up (or at least that does not hit at first wake-up frame), and which has enough active frames for us to make sure it would not whiff against a regular FBA. And idea could be to test against a fast projectile (and trying to cancel into forward wall jump), or against a MP shoryuken or a sumo headbutt⦠We should be able to see the move pass through Claw, and then the FBAā¦
Another way would be capturing it at 60 fps (without being attacked), and seeing startup frames of KKK flip.
