pretty much said it all
Oh no, and I who was about to post my ultimate formula to calculate frame advantage after double FADC backdash EX RCF negative edge cancel ! é_è
Well, I’ll save it for later then. And here is one who is quick on his feet :

Looks like the second player was asleep. Until the two last rounds, I really wondered how he had that much BP.
Nice zoning from Uenis against Rossi yeung. It almost looked like MU was in Claw favor !
Another vid of Brokken G, at 4:58 :

Spoiler
He kinda falls asleep too at one moment. I think he was waiting for a jump to ultra it. =)
I abhore Ryu and his j.hk, j.mp.
That fucking glitch at 06:15. The same thing happens with cr.hk too. They frigging don’t hit! It never got fixed. Every stupid buggy glitch got fixed but Vega’s glitches? No, sir.
yeah i have whiffed some cr.mk after a jump in hit against gief as well, does vega have this problem against very large characters only?
i only noticed this against gief and hawk.

Here is 1h 26 mins of casuals between my Dhalsim frd and me.There are some freezes up to the 40 min mark so you might as well skip until that point.I managed to remove the shaking
I’m not sure it’s a glitch here. cHP hits only high, quite far away, so it might just be a question of hitbox.
Anyway, I do not understand why would one choose to cHP when he could clHP : it’s highly negative on block, with less hitconfirm and damage possibilities. And clHP may be more effective against backdashes. Unless one is not confident in his clHP cMP link, i dont see a reason to use this move ?
This character’s whole story is about unnecessary buffs. jMP is indeed a good example : why a character who already has a shoryuken, would need such a highly rewarding/high priority attack as jmp ? -_-
Lots of freezes indeed, and that’s a pity. What did you use for capture ? Was it a live record ? If yes, i would suggest to record the replays instead of live, it’s less resource consuming.
EDIT : watched a bit of it, with less freezes this time. Nice Claw, Galahand ! Execution is excellent, though better with cLP cLP cMP links than cMK cMP, strangely. Some CH-ST were missed also, and you didn’t tried that much corpse-hop/meaties/safe-jumps, but your claw did very well in a versus which isn’t easy. Very good Claw overall. =)
It’s indeed a glitch. It hits on most people except the large ones. His hand on cr.hp and his leg on cr.hk pierces through the enemy without hitting. Although both of them hits perfectly well themselves both of them whiff if done after a jump-in normal.
Thanks for watching and commenting Trias!
I have another hour of gameplay vs a frd who used Blanka and Balrog ,this time with no freezes
I had time, so i continued almost to the end.
Your Claw seems mostly footsies based, which is good. Your throw game is good, though you do overestimate kara range sometimes. In the last matches, you do some corpse-hops and safe attempts, though sparringly.
Personnaly, I do a lot of them, but never outside of setups. For example, after izuna, dash + Corpse-hop CH + cMK is way more dangerous than just walk + corpse-hop, 'cause you add a frame trap to it and the speed can make the opponent to press buttons. And even more if you mix it with bjHP or njHK, as that 'sim seemed fond of crouch-teching. =)
I’ve not seen a lot of FBA cross-ups/meaties too. Most FBA cross-up whiff on dhalsim if you time them like the rest of the cast. However, I’m sure you know that if you delay them a bit, you’ll still can cross, plus it would catch backdashes/button press. Same for tricks as izuna, HK-St, whiffed cMK then meaty throw i think that may have suprised him as well.
However, as I said, you handled the MU nicely. I liked the idea of catching backjumps with FBA, or focusing his bjHP. Fire + teleport traps were managed quite well too. I’m very uncomfortable against 'sim, so I’m sure you won’t be angry if I do steal you some of them. ^^
I am not very fond of corpse hopping after most izunas against sim because the corpsehop is gonna likely lose you the potitional advantage of pushing him to the corner.
Safejumps and empty jump cr.mk/throw after izuna are effective but you have to be cautious when sim has collected super as it has 4f startup.
When he has super I am also a little leery of using direct meaties,I 'd rather delay the attack a little bit.
About FBA x-ups you are right I didn’t use them at all because if you misstime them again you lose the potitional advantage you 've worked so hard to gain plus you will get punished every time with at least a j.hp or with ultra if he has it.In overall I don’t think the risk/reward is in vega’s favour for trying x-up FBA shennanigans against sim.
I think one of the goals of this forum is to help each other with MUs people need to improve on so you are free to steal as much as you want haha.
I know many will hate me for saying this, but I think Dhalsim is the troll of this game. Just throw your fullscreen pokes free randomly and teleport away when the enemy is close. My stomach aches when I see my opponent is Dhalsim. I beat them mostly, but I don’t get any pleasure from that victory or the boring match. I can’t understand why someone would play as him.
I hope that you are not serious, your joking right ?
Dhalsim is considered one of the most difficult characters to master in SF4 series
he is not just about throwing random pokes and teleporting
what you described is a noob game strategy and doesnt work offline with a little bit high level players
and i dont know why the match up is boring for you ? for a dhalsim player it might be boring or tiring , but for vega its one of the good match ups
where you can rush down and do things not only in the corner blocking dive kicks like there’s no tomorrow
That’s the point, Claw is a good MU for 'sim, 'cause his main advantage (the range of his normals) loses of it’s value against Dhalsim’s longer range. Dealing with nearly fullscreen light punches and overheads is a pain for a charge character without projectiles.
Now the sim fighting Galahand didn’t seem to be among the aggressive ones. But when you’re facing one frequently setting-up traps and counterhits, you understand better the depth of the character.
The « trolling » GI describes may come from the impression he has that a sim player can win purely by zoning, without comboing at all. Claw is also subject to such criticism, though he only becomes really dangerous by mastering his one/two framers links and juggles.
By Dhalsim players.
I’ve tried several characters, and each time in every dedicated forum I saw players (including myself ^^) complaining about how hard to master was their character compared to others.
Current last is a topic wondering about v2012’s Cammy being low tier, which is laughable considering her potential, even if I wouldn’t say she’s easy to pick-up compared to a standart shoto.
I’m sure it must be hard to increase sim’s damage output. It’s so with a lot of characters. Most of the time, he hasn’t invincible reversal. He’s weaker at close range. You’ll observe that Claw also meet those three conditions. But Dhalsim has excellent anti-airs, a fireball and a teleport ; the luxury of those Claw could not afford. So I don’t think you will convince much Claw players about Dhalsim’s disabilities.
Dhalsim, hard to master… In a game Viper, Vega, Gen exists. No, Sir, no way.
I’m happy you are in this forum Trias. You get what I say. Everytime.
Trias and gross, dont let your hate for dhalsim cloud your judgment.
First of all.
The match up Dhalsim vs Claw… it’s in Claw’s favour.
Secondly
Sim is just as hard to play as Claw, for largely the same reason, sucky close range defense.
Sim is with blessed better keep out tools,AA and projectiles and teleport.
Claw is blessed with awesome walkspeed (footsies), better offensive tricks and way better midrange pokes.
Claw is good MU for Sim ? lol
please give me a break,
i will not answer you , i will leave it for Advanced Vega players to answer your question
btw, i am the Dhalsim in that video against Galahand, and also played many endless with Emersion online , so i hope they will answer you regarding the match up
and how you can deal with Dhalsim ,
