Yea, when Sanchez’s ultra wiffed I went for an ultra, but I got a regular walldive. shrug
Nowadays, and especially from players like Sanchez, I get punished much more often for doing a backfip. So, I usually wont use it unless theyre across the screen and have no way of punishing it.
Sanchez is random. Honestly, I was afraid of jumping into a random headstomp. I shouldn’t really have been, but that’s just how you tend to feel when you play people like him.
I think I got in Sanchez’s face once or twice, and he got in mine, but in tht end it’s all just in good fun. Sanchez and I are actually the best of friends within the community. Taunting and teleporting around like an asshole is just part of his mindgame. He’s a great guy though.

I noticed (heck my wife even noticed) the fact that you rarely flipped, and back dashed instead.
I think it is a simple fact the higher the comp, the more likely your going to get punished for an errant flip…well errant anything really. Back dash seemed really safe if he was right on top of you and you wanted some space.

I find I get hit by headstomps in AA even when trying to air throw pretty often.
Stomps beat pretty much everything in the air. That’s their most useful property.
Well, the thing is, stomps will lose to air throws and jumping fierce, but it’s all angle/timing/spacing dependent; with how random Sanchez is, I didn’t want to risk it.
Yeah you really have to be very early on the air throw to beat stomp I find - otherwise you’ll just get hit by it.
Considering Bison really destroys Vega I think you did extremely well.

Kinda funny that a downward ‘stomp’ is such good AA.
Hm. Don’t think I’ve ever seen an air throw against a stomp. I think I’ve managed to j.Fierce one before, but it was more a panicky fluke that went right instead of something I had planned.
i always catch headstomp with airthrow. or ill jus back dash and punish
Try jumping in with an immediate-mash air throw when the round starts against Bison - so many of them immediately jump or stomp and you can catch them.
But you pretty much have to psychic it because if you try to react you’ll get stuffed.
yeah if your above them air throw always wins, if your on the ground flip avoids the stomp and the devils reverse, when he lands you can df. rh
does anyone have a video of the eleven hit combo posted in the combos thread, i cant do it to save my life and i cant pass up 40% plus damage even if it costs three bars

no i wasnt really digging, thanx for digging for me though, that combo is pretty nice, i can pull it consistently thanx to that video, im still not sure if its worth three bars but its a nice ace in the hole

If your going for style points and you want to frustrate someone then go for it. At high level play though I would say it is not worth three bars.

That Vega played FLAWLESS against a sim.
Unfortunately the Abel in that video is so good that some of you might puke.
Vega really owned Abel in the first round but got destroyed, mostly due to c.jab spam beating out Vega’s pokes - and then the following mixup b/c Vega can’t really reversal out.
Anytime I’ve been up against a good Abel I get wrecked. You see how that jump in stuffed that ex wall dive for free, made me sad.
I do fine against Abel because I play a hardcore run away against him. If I get knocked down, I always assume the worst and pretend that he’s going to command grab and figure something out from there, otherwise I play it relaxed.
Also, Abel players seem to miss launcher -> ultra A LOT on Vega.
Since Abel is the topic of the last few posts today I had a jab RCF beat his ultra.
