Matador Video Thread

cat-k is a great player, just happens to be a whole lot more different compared to makoto and the likes.the thing that got me disappointed the most was his pretty bad success rate with wall dives throughout the online tourny.knowing how bad makoto is when it comes to wall diving, people looked at that as the standard and were pretty shocked to see how well arai used it during gods garden 2.5.
i was really expecting him to take it up a notch in the online tourny, but sadly he wall diving did more harm than good.
it was online, and online matches should always be taken with a grain of salt.

Also, people like nemo complained about how non dp characters face a general disadvantage when going up against dp characters online, cause the art of listening to your opponent’s mashed out reversal cannot be banked on and they would have to purely guess everytime out of a grab-dp scenario.

Hearing that from players like Nemo is kinda weird… cause you can’t really listen to mashed reversals in arcades either.

That should be right. I use this method a lot. You’ll condition them after a while that you’re going to keep EX SHC and then they’re generally unprepared for the EX FBA when it comes out so they eat it in the face. It surprises me how much this works even offline.

You can hear mashed reversals in a tourney though.

Depends on how the tourney is held and how loud the place is X3 Sure if it’s in arcades like Trocadero like hell are you going to hear anything over the chavs on the dance machines laughs
But Yeah you can hear them usually. Though what I was getting at is that it’s a fun little method that plays around with your opponent a bit. Risky, but often very effective.

That’s just about the only reason I can think of Cat-K using it.

Mashing is legit if it work watch ER_W3NY7I20]YouTube - Daigo [Ryu] vs Wildcat815 [Hakan

lol I was the one who sent that link to keits. :stuck_out_tongue:

Then the comments devolved into the typical Daigo fare.

this is why I pricisly hate the community. Most of them are shit for brain shitheads. Most of SRK is like this to.

btw, i thought we all came to the conclusion that mashing is legit strategy since it works. and im serious about this when i say it. There is nothing scrubby about mashing DP, your just being smart. How well you use it though is entirely up to you.

Fake mashing is what you need your (hopefully unmapped) 7th and 8th buttons for.

Only has 6 =( Unless I use my Chun stick XD then it’s the first two unmapped. I think I might see how well this turns out for me at the upcoming tourney.

hey Sasaki do you have a link to the Makoto vs Ace rin match up. Cant find it on you tube. was it even ace rin. And do you have other vids of a good vega that deals with sonic booms simply by walking. Someone on my friends list would like em. Thanks

Are you talking about ?
Other good Guile|Vega matchvideos are BKw4_qWMAXs"]Tatsu vs. Warahk FT10 and

yes thats the one. and thanks for the vids!

I need to get better at playing footsie’s against Chun Li. Anyone got any advice?

I haven’t been using a CH right after making her block a low forward. I saw Sasaki mention this… should I try this more against Chun Li?

are we playing good chun’s how know reversal EX Legs is crappy.

if so yes, but not every time. mix t up

if your playing crappy ones expect EX Legs every time.

Most players prefer a very safe approach to the Chun matchup, even in footsies. That ultimately means being passive, counterpoking her and trying your best to leave out the fancy stuff (df.HK, for instance). Frame traps like cr.MP (hit), cr.MP are very good because they involve zero to no risk at all.
Just watch Nao’s spacing and in his matches against Haneyama.

The Chun Li player I play regularly is a very smart player. He actually has much less street fighter experience than me but overall much much more fighting game experience as he plays BlazBlue very competively.

He doesn’t ever Ex Legs reversal… Only EX spinning bird kick if he senses a really predictable tick throw or a poor jump in on my part. He does manage to hit confirm every damn c.short into Ex legs into U2. He’s damn good at that.

Thanks for that video Sasaki.

Edit: Man I hate Chun Li. That bitch’s tools > Vega’s tools. No doubt about that.

thx for the vids Sasaki-Chan

thanks for the vids  especially tatsus set. always a pleasure to watch.
