such an awful name you have there. also gootecks doesnt know his rose. no combos at all?
Some new replay, I recently replayed with ‘Bloody High Claw’, I find it more fun than SC and maybe with the AE (reversal Ex ST…) we can do without SC…
But when I play in ranked match I still use SC

Grand Finals of a random 2v2 at Starbase Arcade in San Rafael, CA.
In this vid, they cut out my partner Nes going first and getting killed by Crizzle, the best Viper in NorCal.
My team was in winners and I ended up OCVing every team I fought that night all by myself.

I actually used your advice a few times, especially to wakeup using St. Fierce punch to punish numerous things. I just don’t post much; so don’t think it’s useless just because you don’t get praise. I praise you in my mind :P. Thank you btw
At 1:23 of Jay’s, and 19:17 of Cat-K’s video they both win an air-to-air exchange, and then follow up with an EX-FBA. It looks like it crosses up, and it’s not a juggle. Gamerbee sounds surprised as he’s getting izuna’d also. Is this a cross up, and if is, it looks like it isn’t character specific since adon/dudley aren’t floaty jumpers.
Pretty sure it’s a crossup…i’ve done it before against friends and they all said they were holding back the whole time.
to answer your question yess it is a CROSS-UP
tbh, i didnt like Cat-K’s playstyle. To much jumping? Kid is amazing though, especially with his use of Cosmic Heel and cr.mk. his playstyle does remind me of Alex’s and Joz’s a lot.
Cat-K is good but does too much ex sky high…i dont think its worth the risk or damage unless it kills someone.
Makoto is still the best in my opinion.
Overall more solid and has better mind games.
As questionable as Cat-K’s playstyle may be, he’s certainly entertaining to watch.
Yeah im not hating on him… i actually think he’s the 2nd best Vega in the world.
Theres trolls in our vega section?! but hey haven’t posted a vid in awhile but will be coming back soon anyone going to socal reigonals?
“Jumping” is not Cat-K’s playstyle in general, it’s just how he approaches the Adon matchup. He successfully shuts down Jaguar Tooth with this. Still haven’t figured out why he’s using EX Sky High so much though. Might be because he’s trying to mix up with the awful lot of half/fullscreen EX walldives he throws out.
I also noticed that japanese Claw players lately have this habit of walking in on someone, then hitting them with cr.MK at the right time. It’s a fairly known footsie trick. It works because your opponent is prompted to press buttons since he doesn’t want you to step into his range.
The reason this is so good with Vega is…
a) The opp’s going to have to react way earlier because you’re playing one of the fastest characters in the game with a walking kara throw that looks like it reaches quarter screen. Now, you’re thinking - forcing the opponent to react earlier - why is this good? Well, you won’t be near the range of most characters’ light normals that could seriously threaten or beat your cr.MK.
b) Cr.MK deals with a lot of the options your opponent has to react to this:
-
|Teching| Cr.MK owns cr.LK’s because of its fairly nice amount of active frames. Also, consider that a lot of the times your opponent will be inclined to stand tech because that way teching kara throws doesn’t require an omega late timing. This results in you getting a low hit that you can hitconfirm into cr.MP into EX Walldive.
-
|Walking back| You’re not using kara throws enough if you haven’t come across an opponent that tries walking away from them. Cr.MK counters this by dealing a low hit. Again, you can hitconfirm into EX Walldive here if you’re good.
-
|Blocking| On block you have 2+ and are free to either walk in deeper, try a df.HK frame trap, push the opponent further back by doing st.HP or start ticking with st.LK.
This is a fairly solid strategy when mixed up with df.HK (which isn’t as safe but instead deals with jumping over by making you recover a lot faster than the opponent - it also takes care of the normals that could beat your cr.MK). Downsides are that the spacing and timing you need are pretty tough.
