jf.lk. Is this shit.

And yeah Dunn, my bad. I’ll dl the yt app so i don’t get those urls anymore.

ill draw a few pics showing the spacing where those moves are amazing. but to tell you nj.mp, nj.lk destroys triangle jump ins, and if your opponent does a move like honda/zangief air belly flop, an early attack on jump in to stuff your jump AA atempt (like air grab), or a move like Sagat’s man elbow. nj.lk is also good to hit opponents that are right above you as youre about to reach the peak of your jump. Honda, Zangief, Blanka, Bison, and old Gen come to mind. and knowing that helps a lot in the Honda match up, where honda wants to constantly cross you up with his flying belly flop of doom.

nj.lk is also great at stuffing jump ins where nj.hk/hp would fail

but jf.lk, and jb.lk easily one of Vega’s best air normal.

S-Tier for trying to play SSFIV Claw like his ST counterpart: ARG

That taunt he did made you rage and step up your game didn’t it?

Yes maybe ^^ but it was our first fight, i didn’t know this player and that’s stupid but i’ve surely underestimated him because of his low BP… my defense was not at top lol

Nj mp is best for two situations.

  1. attacking someone with a high arc as a pre emptive attack, particularily diagonally.
  2. attacking someone in the air that is ABOVE you significantly, particularily while falling.

Nj HP is best for many situations. The thing that makes Nj HP so great is that the hit box is far away from you and your hitbox is far back. It makes it safer than most of his air attacks. The problem though… is that it starts at 6 frames instead of 4 frames like NJ HK.

  1. AA someone who is at the same level as you, but not too close.
  2. AA anyone that is below you or coming at you at a diagonal angle going upward.
  3. Hit someone on the ground (doesn’t work on certain characters crouched).

If you are trying to jump forward or backwards for AA then the best should be jump mp, HK, and HP, although those three are best at different angles. Jump mp is the most useful one though. Jump lk has its hitbox in the middle of Vega’s hitbox which takes away its effectiveness to stuff attacks, unlike mp, and HP. Plus jump lk is 6 frames (I believe) instead of 5 frames like mp and HP.

Jump LK has 7 active frames.

are there videos of him playing ssf4 for ARG? links porfavor

Just type “ARG SFIV” into Youtube and something should pop up. ARG@FTH I think. It’s him.

Getting back to SSFIV again, here are matches I recorded:

Strictly using Vega in this game. No more 2nd characters for me.

That’s me playing against Indestruct-ABEL, enjoy the final round:

any tips?

learn to use all your buttons, mp lp and hp arent your only buttons. dont be afraid to attack or block on wake up. dont wall dive outside of a set up or combo. learn to walk forward, try not to use CH to move foward. use RCF block strings to push to the corner. everytime you use kkk you can backdash. capatilize of knock downs.

Thanks pedoviejo, I do use my other buttons - lol, but in this game I wanted to be aggressive so I didn’t need to poke him with s.mk but other than that I’ve used s.lk c.mk (a lot btw).

As for attacking or blocking on wake up… I guess playing a lot vs ryu have taught me not to attack on wake up… my ass would sharyuken all over the place, I like to play defensive most of the time. It’s better to be careful when playing with vega IMO.

Using CH to move IS a problem for me I think, and I have to stop doing that. What do you mean by capitalize the knock downs? give me some tips…
I just learned two things: 1. safe jumping after backthrow with j.mp , 2. and approaching them while on ground and counter or stuff them with c.mk …

thanks a lot pedo…

imo st.lk is the best offense move. also cr.mk is amazing especially if you do it during block strings to buffer charge and do RCF to do chip damage plus it moves them really far. to be really aggressive imo you push the opponent into the corner, or you can lead him to the corner and then try to switch it around. you should try this, simply walk up straight up and do cst.hp. its risky but it makes your opponent push more buttons and that is what you want them to do. the more buttons they push the bigger chance they have of pushing the wrong button.

dont be afraid to attack on wake up though at least thats what i think, because it allows you to capitilize on wake up like i said. Its risky but over time you learn how to apply it smart

1.st.hp is a great wake up poke and eats os tech
2.cst.hp is great, it beats moves with long start up, links to big damage, beats mashed normals, if timed right punishes grab, and eats back dashes
3.kara throw makes the opponent want to tech/mash normals on wake up and do reversals
4.PoM (max distance) forces the opponent to stand on wake up or do a reversal
5.slide allows you to capitilize on PoM since you would use slide from the same distance as PoM this creates a high low mix up and being relatively safe
6.CH beats os tech lows beats some wake up normals, and punishes reversals badly if delayed,
7.cr.lk has a deceptive recovery time which can bait so many things out
8.cr.mk to fish for counter hit, and is a buffer and conceals RCF
9.jump in to pressure with block strings and set up counter hit cr.mk/CH set ups, and frame trap with cr.mk into CH, or st.lk into CH. counter hit cr.mk combo’s into mp.RCF and builds ton of meter does great damage, and can push an opponent from mid screen almost all the way to the corner.
10.empty jump in to bait a reversal
11.walk in and out of range to bait something
12.block and do nothing which is great for mind fucking people.

edit: ask sasaki to help you on wake up im sure he knows a lot more than me, and ask Joz on how to abuse people on wake up with neutral jump and frame traps.

edit2: try to AA everything. doesnt matter if you fail 100 times. learn the space for all of your AA’s. its important that you dont let your opponent jump in.

I’m still learning and this is a ranked match, it was laggy so I couldn’t do anything against this green bastard, he was only jumping with hk then c.hk combo … you’ll see that i’ll miss a lot of combos thats because it was lagging… he kept taunting me at the end, but look what happened eventually lol … i sent him ’ Fuk off bith’ after the game
