BowFlexMike vs Thai Vega, FuriousJodo Captured on Ustream:AFRODOJO SINGLES!!! - THURSDAY NIGHT GRILL FIGHTS!!! Other Entertainment

Nice job Thai Vega! One thing though… why, after hitting df+HK (CH), did you do a standing MK? I figured you’d do something (1) more damaging or (2) create a better opportunity for mix-up (like a c.LP). Anyway, nice handling of that Balrog, he had some pretty nasty combos and that’s always a tough match-up.

Melubas, as always, thanks for your vids. I studied your match against Ryu and counted the number of times you did an actual jump (if you were curious it was only 3x per round haha). Your ability to maneuver in and unleash such good damage while staying so grounded is very impressive. Keep the vids coming!

Here is my next wave of youtube matches. I have one against a C. Viper who called themselves a tourny player, wish I got another round, but the quit while I was playing against the next dude who I posted all 6 of our matches with. He played nice rush down characters as well as a good zoning Rose. I struggled against Guy and Sakura :-/… any tips???

Vega vs Ken (2 BHC’s!)

This is my favorite match of the bunch because I nail not one, but 2 BHCs! (1) as an anti cross up and (2) as a set up i’ve been trying to work on… do a string of attacks that your opponent blocks like c.LP/c.MP delay a sec and then BAM! Ultra 1. In this case it worked… I generally screw up the motion though :-/

Vega Mirror!

i went for meaty’s hoping that he would poke something out or focus it so i get a counter hit or punish his focus = ) also i was going to do a mix up that i developed but i never really saw the chance to do it, it works in the corner i think its character specific its CH > Close MK > Dash Fwd underneath flipping body “cross up” > crouch LP x4 > Crouch MP > Ex Izuna

Makoto FTW!

Just destroyed Uryo… who was playing “wiper” as said by chris hu…

I knew Makoto was gonna win…always felt the matchup was 5-5 despite people thinking that Vega is free against Viper.

Can’t believe he won 10-6 though, i wouldve thought it would be 10-8. He went crazy the last game lol

also notice how he couldve fundamentally outplayed uryo even in the previous iteration.its just that the american sf community underestimates vega for all the wrong reasons.

Since this is the Video thread… here is the link to the video:

Anybody got that vid of (I think SBO… some japanese tournament) where Vega uses the flip loop on abel like 15 times in a row?

Hey I’m Taicho san and I’m new here. Here are some of my matches. I was wondering if ppl better than me could point some good and some bad things about my game. So that I can tighten it up.

First match against a guile

Second match against the same guile

Third match against a rufus if somebody could explain how to keep him off me that would be nice

Fourth match against the rufus player who switched to sagat for some reason

On a side note the other matches on my channel are just for jokes and nothing serious just a heads up.

dont hold down back so much. and dont run away when you have lead. it seems like a good idea, but you give up all momentum when you do that. Just finish of the fight in a safe way.

Are you talking about the rufus match or all the matches in general?

all of them. it doesnt matter who you play. that much downback is not good because you cant move and let them come right in.

oh shit never even thought of that. Thanks its back to the lab for me then.

Me vs. Jozhear part 1. Ill post part 2 and three later.

I am going to make a post somewhere about how to play Vega like how we did in these matches. Using Vega’s aerial attacks to AA and for offense is important for Vega players to understand. We also did many hitconfirms and combos into EX FBA. Lag messed up some of our combos here and there, but nonetheless he pulled off the majority of his combos, whereas I was lacking.

Enjoy.

Great match guys, very impressive play. I learned a few things and was reminded of a couple I had forgotten. Also I accidentally hit the vuvuzela button halfway through and that was pretty hilarious.

Pretty awesome match. I’m going to try and steal that triangle jump maneuver, that was slick.

I didn’t really see much air throwing… Joz did A LOT of naked jumps (which was a good technique for your frequent focus) but, I thought you might have started reading that and airthrowing.

Overall, really awesome and helpful. You can clearly see when things came out that weren’t supposed and things that were supposed to come out didn’t… looking forward to the next couple of matches!

I am glad that you guys appreciate the matches. Here is part 2.

impressive jozhear. just one thing. why isnt there a single air throw? not fashionable?
