Shoryuken!!!
could someone give a link showing a crouch tech on video?
Thanks in advance
uh watch some match videos, you’ll see it.
Backdash is a viable tactic with some characters(12, HUGO, ORO probably being the best). It also has the added bonus of making people randomly confirm hits off shit that connected on an airborne opponent!
But it doesn’t work as great when cornered or if the other guy waits long enough to catch the last few frames of your dash. Just another option.
I picture you singing this in a high pitched screechy voice to a fast death metal guitar track, and I laugh.
yes i did, it’s pretty useful in fact!
the timing is not exactly the same as normal tech throw
May God Bless You.
I have a question. Why are tick throws so good? There was some Makoto thread where I went off about tick throws are overrated and that after a while straight throws do the same thing without having to worry about the guess parry. Of course I don’t even listen to myself and continue to tick into throw. At this point it is out of habit, but what exactly is the advantage of ticking into a throw versus just throwing? I’m guessing I know this sounds scrubbish, but it’s something I’ve been wondering about ever since I mouthed off in the Makoto forum.
You are not aesop rock
Because you are ticking a normal that puts you at frame advantage, instead of just walking up and leaving yourself open…
“Ticking” before you throw forces your opponent to block and stay stationary, instead of allowing him to counterattack (i.e. wakeup srk) or run/jump away before you get the chance to throw. It also provides to you, at the same time, frame advantage, so you are able to keep your position and throw your opponent once the block stun wears off, should you choose to.
Tick throwing is also a form of mix up, as it forces your opponent to guess what is coming after the tick: a follow-up tick (so they should continue to block), or a throw (so they should unblock). If they guess wrong, then they take damage. It is also a form of hit confirm for many characters, i.e. ken’s cr.lk cr.lk, if it hits, cancel to super, if it is blocked, you are given the choice to re-approach your opponent and either throw, or try again (another mixup).
ticking beats wakeup srk?
Might beat Ryu’s non EX SRK. I wouldn’t know about Ken or Akuma.
I’ve been told all sorts of pokes beat reversal ex srk when timed right. Maybe mak’s s.mp?
I wouldn’t rule it out, but EX tends to have invincibility.
ex will eat makoto s.mp up.
it can trade with certain top down moves i believe.
like i think meaty alex s.fp will trade with it.
I just tried that on PS2 Makoto’s standing strong. Ryu’s regular SRK will beat meaty Makoto strong. I don’t know if that’s what you were talking about, though. Alex fierce can trade, though. That’s happen to me once.
if someone throws a fierce shoryu at you dont even try to beat it, just block and punish.
And yes some EX moves have a little invencibility like ryu’s ex shoryu, ken’s… mmm im not sure.
Some have none, like Chun’s EX SBK
Like slayer lyrics or something lol.
iirc ive seen meaty s.strong with mak trade with non ex srks from ryu, ken, and gouki. its not a trade you want. xD
