Stun in the corner. Yang has no problem getting and keeping opponents in the corner. Act like you’re Mago and chill a bit in the corner. Figure out the distance where you can react to a fireball with MK DP, or anti-air with LK DP.

Yang really does thrive in the corner.
Also, EX-palm is kinda useless in the set-up I was trying, since HP palm does the same damage.

cr.lk is +4 on hit, close st.hp has a 6 frames startup…

Yeah but you can do the MP Palm FADC U2 off a cr.mk as well. It’s only at the very tip of the hit box that the MP palm won’t connect at least that’s the case on Yun and Fei Long, on larger characters it might hit regardless. Doing cr.lp, s.lp, cr.mk xx MP Palm FADC U2 does 399 damage, compared to the standard U1 FADC off a hit confirm that does 351. I guess it’s possible they just don’t know about it, as I don’t see how they could pass up the huge damage off a command grab on top of everything else.

I’m guessing most people just didn’t know because 505 off of a command grab for two bars is pretty sick and a very scary option.

More tidbits. FA3, EX Palm, any palm does not work (sometimes?) if they’re crouching. It is definitely character specific. Oddly, in some situations I was able to replicate the same behavior of a late hitting palm with HP Palm off of a FA2 backdash. And after 60 games with a friend offline last night, it’s definitely possible to confirm in your head if a cross up j.MK connected before doing a clst.HP.

Oh, and if you put Super gauge on infinite, activating Super allows you to use EX moves still. Kind of weird, but definitely good shit…too bad it can’t be used in a real match at all, haha.

edit: Thinking about the hit confirm Ultra 2 with cr.LK, st.LP, clst.HP - I do not think that is a good option on all characters because of the st.LP whiffing thing. Something to keep in mind.

Is FA3, EX palm, MP palm corner specific? I can’t get it off in a match. More training mode, I suppose.

As far as post command throw, I think the best non-meter option is cl.mp, cr.mk xx mk roll kick. For 1 meter, its cl.mp, cr.mk xx EX roll kick. Two meters seems to be cl.s.hp xx mp palm FADC cl.s.hp xx mk roll kick.

It works on both corners for training mode at least. You can get an HP palm if you are not too close as well

Me again. I believe I have found the most damaging, universal hit confirmable FADC combos that don’t involve Ultra or command grab. Note these are difficult combos…the corner variation in particular is a real bitch to pull off at first. But they do good damage, stun, and give good positioning. There are much easier variations which you can find fairly easily as well if you can’t do them.

Command grab, clst.MP, cr.MK does not work on Ryu. So it probably does not work on others as well. Maybe it’s just a timing issue on my end, but considering I could connect it without the command grab. Popping on turbo just to see if it was possible didn’t get any results either.

Command grab, clst.HP xx EX Dragon Kicks doesn’t seem worth it over Command grab, clst.HP xx HK Dragon Kicks. 225 versus 205.

Command grab, cl.mp, cr.mk is character specific. It works on some characters (like Honda, IIRC).

Why are you puttin lps after FADCs and command grabs? I expect damage to be higher without those.

You cannot link into cst.MK or cst.MP on everyone without them.

Anyone have a link to a video with this setup in it? I get the reset to hit, but the meaty palm whiffs. Character specific?

There’s no meaty palm occurring.

In the corner, you use cl.mk to launch. You then use s.lk/cr.lk (or cl.mp if those are awkward for you) and special cancel into palm; LP palm serves as a feint whereas MP palm works for FADC combos. If you can’t get the MP to hit, use HP (slower).

If you special cancel the lk into palm, the palm hits meaty. That’s why you can combo straight into Ultra off of this setup. The Hp palm works, but they go airborne, which still combos into U2, but for less damage. I know you can do it, I’ve had it hit, but it’s tough.

I haven’t had too much of a problem with it (but I’ve been FADCing off the palm or canceling into Seiei-Enbu), but I’ll spend some time and figure out if there’s a shortcut or trick for it.

I’m just having the Mp Palm whiff completely when I special cancel the C.Lk

I’m trying it on Ryu if that makes a difference at all
