Luckily for me I know almost nothing about the story in ME2 so the shit is going to blow me away for sure.
With the armor customization, how does it work exactly? Do you get things add stat boosts to your armor? If so can you collect a shit load of them and have to sell/drop shit every half hour like in the first game? That was the most infuriating thing about ME for me. The Mako was pretty cool in comparison.
There’s no loot or inventory, you find pieces via hacking safes open for example or buying them at shops. For Shepard’s armor, you buy or research individual pieces like helmet that does bonus headshot damage or extra health. Arm packs for extra ammo or some other bonus, etc. And Shep is the only person you can customize.
For your allies it’s usually squad based bonuses like “everyone gets 20% bonus to weapon damage” or extra shields.
Finished pre-loading it on Steam, can’t wait til tomorrow.

A female Shepard has two options if she wants to romance an alien. Both of those options are male, but I personally don’t have a problem with that.

I’m guessing BioWare did this to quell the complaints that arose regarding Mass Effect having what a friend of mine referred to as “Maxim lesbians.” It could be argued that the romance between Liara and a female Shepard was only put there as fanservice material for what some may perceive to be the game’s target audience(heterosexual males). This theory is supported by the fact that male-on-male romance has never been an option in Mass Effect, even though it very much is an option in Dragon Age: Origins.
This is not necessarily my belief, but it is a comparatively popular one, and I’m certain it’s a complaint BioWare heard. This is how they have chosen to respond to it.
Does anyone know what my options are regarding custom characters?
Say i import my character from ME1. Is she going to look exactly like she did in ME1 in ME2? Or am i going to have to resign her all over again.
ALSO! IF you import your character, and she DOES have the option to look exactly the same , can i import my ME1 character, and resign her too look different?
ME1 had…not enough custom options imo on how you could make your character look. Hopefully ME2 has way more options in the hair, eyes, ect dept.
Your character will look the same…if you want. You could also redesign Shepard’s face and even pull a class change. If you’re importing, the only thing you can’t change upon introduction is Shepard’s gender.

If they have new options, then i want to test them, but I want the base to be as i imported it. I have 2 fem sheps and a male. Maybe a different facial hair for the man, and new makeup/hair for the women.
Also are the options the exact same, meaning that the same slider positions in ME1 would make the same exact person in ME2?
About the free DLC, i think they took it down. I get a message saying that i cannot download it from the web. Fortunately for me i was able to add the collectors armor to my queue before they got smart
If you bought the game wouldn’t you get the DLC free any way? Wasn’t that what the whole cerberus network about?

Same here. I honestly wanted the CE of Mass Effect…and then Gamestop said they aren’t taking anymore pre-orders. This really worked out to my favor since I don’t really care for the extra DVD and artbook. Too bad I can’t get that Dragon Age Armor…but getting the CE contents for free is fine with me.
I didn’t preorder the game…I hope I’ll be able to just walk in and find a copy.
