Also I can convert PS1/PS2, DC and Many other kinds of MAS sticks to XBOX 360 for $70.00 including parts if anyone is interested.
Iād just like my sticks back. Anyone have new contact info for MAS?
fuuuuuuck, my MAS (ps2) stick just started doing some real fucking random shit and was going to see if i could find a way to get a new one. seeing this thread got me pumped but having read it and seeing that mas is mia/unreachable hurts me on the inside.
fuck.
Why would you need a new one, just put a new pcb in there.
it is actually going to be much more simple than that, lol. over reactions ftw i suppose.
I wish Anthony was still around. : \
Does anyone know of a good bag or case to use with a MAS stick?
Does anybody know any sites that sells good mas arcade joysticks besides arcadeshock???
Anything durable and padded.
Not really. As in not that I donāt know but that no one else does.
Sorry, as per Tech Talk rules there NO Selling in this forum. You have to go to the trading post and follow their qualifications to sell on SRK.
Is it dual modded? Iāve seen MAs Sticks go for way less and dual modded.
Damn, I canāt possibly take MAS seriously after seeing the picture of the inside of that stick with 99 cent scotch tape holding the wiring together like that.
I know, but its old news now. As far as I know the company went under (sad really). You chances of finding a MAS stick is now pretty much limited to the 2nd hand market.
Not really. Theres always Arcade shock, but they charge premium prices.
So Iāve been looking around at a bunch of different stick options and Iām really feeling the MAS stick (I grew up playing MvC2 in the arcades). I was just wondering if anyone knows how difficult it would be to mod a MAS stick (I would get a 360 one) once it starts crapping out on me? I noticed that the newest sticks (on arcadeshock) use the HAPP comp stick and Sanwa buttons. The buttons should be easy to replace but how about that stick? What if I wanted to replace it with a Japanese style stick?
I know MAS isnāt around anymore and I would hate to get stuck with a great stick for a few months then a huge paperweight once the stick stops working. Such a shame for anyone looking for an American style stick.
Modding should be pretty easy if you know what your doing. As for changing the stick? I wouldnāt know. I only know how to modd using american parts. Also ebay is a good place to find preowned Mas stick.
Hey dude, thanks for the quick reply! Guess itās time to start hunting. Iāll come to you if I have any American modding questions.
Mas sticks are fairly easy to mod because of their straight forwards and simple construction. MAS was never made to accept anything but American style parts.
The Newer Arcade shock sticks are not MAS sticks.
An Actual Mas, the Arcade Shock, X-arcade and other American style arcade sticks will need some modifying to make Japanese parts fit.
Keep in mind Happs are made to be installed in thick wooden panels while Japanese parts are meant for thin metal or plastic housing.
Your best bet is the Sanwa JWL, as it the only Japanese stick that can be mounted like a Happs.
You will need new holes to be drilled for the mount and some minor routing done on the underside of the panel.
Oh wow. I had no idea arcadeshock was hocking stuff under the MAS name. On that note, how difficult would it be to switch out american buttons for the installed Sanwa? That would include a bit of wirework wouldnāt it? And maybe some button hole modifications?
It doesnāt look like buying replacement HAPP sticks isnāt as difficult as I initially thought so I would stick to that as long as I had the big box.
Thanks in advance, you guys have been a huge help.
who said that arcade shock sticks are not official MAS sticks? I donāt know why you act like it would be hard for them to accept Japanese parts its a freaking MDF case it can hold any screw in buttons. true if you have a case already built for happ parts its a pain to retro fit it for Japanese parts, but it would not be hard at all for them to build a case for Japanese using the same design they have been using. Its a case plane and simple it can use any buttons or joystick Iām calling bullshit here.
