Marvel's Netflix Universe: Return of the Kingpin

Preacher on FX is the best we are going to get. HBO was playing around with Preacher for years but gave up. The Boys should be gettin a movie too iirc.

I think it was kind of funny matt was on that bench. Was he thinking of going to see the priest or something? Why are you chilling there?

David Goyer and Josh Gordon Levitt are working on a Sandman movie as we speak. JGL has been very adamant about getting this made, and being involved, so I have pretty good faith about it. Neil Gaiman is also enthusiastic with how it’s coming along, as opposed to Alan Moore vehemently hating everything that manages to escape his wizard beard.

I’m good with FX trying as well, their handling of Sons of Anarchy while not the best show did indicate they are not shy with handling the more serious material.

To be totally above board, everything Alan Moore did well writing got fucked pretty hard on screen.

Moore even hates the faithful adaptions of his work. His hate is rooted in the belief that the stories he wrote can only work in the medium of comics.

Alan just hates adaptations period. Doesn’t help DC would only give him back the Watchmen rights if he wrote sequels/prequels.

IIRC the deal DC made with Moore in regard to Watchmen is he will get the rights once the graphic novel goes out of print which it never did.

Stick is an awesome asshole. He’s fucking hilarious.

Yes I just got around to watching episode 7.

Wow. Just got done watching this. These web series are really sneaking up on me. If you had told me before they were making a web series about Daredevil, I’d be hard pressed to care less. I ended up huffing up this whole series Sunday and today though. Anxious for S2.

I thought american gods was getting the tv treatment as well??

doubt it will go through…it’s been in development hell for like 3 years now, I think, which is sad because I really enjoyed the book.

HBO had their hands on it at one point, then gave up on it, last I heard somebody else was developing it, and even had a pilot, but that was all like 2 years ago.

This show is highly overrated.

Not a bad show. Best episode was the one with Stick.

Murdoch takes such unbelievable beatings. It’s a wonder why he isn’t missing teeth or has had 12 dozen concussions.

The fight against Nubo… followed up by the Fisk beatdown… dude should be in a coma or just plain dead.

But no… throw in some weak ass meditation mumbo jumbo and all his cuts, concussions, broken bones, etc are magically healed.

So its a perfect comic adaptation.

Exactly. Niggas so ungrateful.

Well tbh he should be dodging bullets and using 800 barbells as staffs by the comic standards. This is pretty toned down by comparison. And no Bullseye

beg to differ

My only gripe is Fisk’s fighting scenes. I thought in the comics he is very athletic and strong regardless of his size. Not that I want him to lift up cars or dance around like Murdock, but it’d be realistic if Fisk knew how to box or something. I just saw him maul people like they were a slice of pie.

Fisk can take a hit and be unfazed. He’s more of a tank here than most incarnations.
