Same, as big of an issue macros are to me I’ll still pick it up if their own, having the games locked Turbo 1 is a dealbreaker.

this is so precisely the point. for players like me, who want to pick this game up for the first time SERIOUSLY, or semi-seriously with the intent of learning it, (not just like people like sho nuff who wanna mash out hypers then drop the game in a month to go back to mvc3 or whatever they play) I would like to learn the game/test my skills in as even a playing field as possible, and someone using a 3p binding is not playing on the same level as me on a stick. If they are in, it will just force me to sit back and just play with those I trust do not use macros and not just play anyone, which is kind of a bummer, but oh well.
or just play GWM and Hulk or something

what are some spidey combos? i found stuff on almost every character but him.
whats the priority on WM’s air normals? I mean, watching matches where wm jumps and calls smart bombs, then knees or does down fierce…can nothing beat or trade with those moves?

Yeah it does have multiple speeds. Though most everyone I’ve played against has left it at 1 a few 2.
Lol @ me being a theory fighter. When I’m the one who can actually pull off the Wolv inf up to 99 hits consistently. And I regularly play on GGPO too (although not against americans, they don’t seem to accept challenges from anyone with ping over a hundred =/ ).
As I said, I don’t care whether macros make it into this game or not, since I don’t have a 360 or a PS3, I’ll just be staying on GGPO, probably in a hidden room (like 3S’ Karnov) if they take it off. I’m just here to say that it is not hard at all to do on a real stick, because I’ve ACTUALLY done it.
But then, I learned the timing for the combos first on KB. I can honestly say I would NEVER have learned this stuff if I trained purely on stick.
I guess macros can be helpful for that, when you’re just learning the combo.
It’s actually very character specific. Say you have the enemy cornered.
You can launch characters like Wolv and WM with:
c.lk c.mp s.mk s.mk [uncombo] c.hp s.mk s.mk c.hp s.hk
That ALONE should shave off more than 1/2 HP (due to the fierces not scaling).
Works for some other chars like Spidey and Captain America too.
But for the other characters, the generic launch is c.lk c.mp s.mk s.mk [uncombo] c.hp s.hk
Although it doesn’t work for some characters (like Strider, Chun-Li), and for that some people just do a plain HK launch.
Then just air combo with sj.lk sj.mk d+hk sj.hk
Then you OTG then juggle like so:
vs. WM: s.lk s.mk s.mk c.hp [[uncombo] s.mk s.mk c.hp] x til dead
vs. Wolv: / (very strict timing, do it before you land) c.lp s.mk c.hp [[uncombo] s.mk c.hp] x til dead
vs. Strider: (no other OTG brings to perfect height to make the juggle constantly unblockable)
s.lk s.mp s.mk c.hp [[uncombo] s.mk s.mk c.hp] x til dead
Sometimes FSD will happen too early (i.e. you start sliding away from the opponent), just keep repeating it until you think the next s.mk rep will not hit, then connect a s.hk launch to the c.hp (or a fatal claw). Should ALWAYS be a 100%, even at low damage settings.
Some characters are immune to it: e.g. Heavy types like Hulk, Megaman bounces too high for juggles, Captain Commando CANNOT be uncombod by ANYONE at all (not even WM’s glove, he’s like the CPU), and there’s GWM.
And others have some special variation,
e.g. for Chun-Li, I use:
c.lk s.mp c.mp [uncombo] c.hp s.hk /\ sj.lk sj.mk d+hk sj.hk / s.lk s.mk [uncombo] c.hp fatal claw
Which is only 100% on normal damage settings when Fatal claw does max damage (and you can’t even do fatal claw if there is no FSD at the OTG i.e. if you don’t slide back after the c.hp).
And for Strider, I do the following launch:
c.lk s.mp c.mp c.hp [uncombo] s.mk s.mk c.hp s.hk -> for a bit over 1/2 HP
And then, even if the generic uncombo launch works on Gambit (for 1/3 life), you can do the following for 3/4 life just from the launch (before the air combo even starts):
c.lk s.mp c.mp [uncombo] c.hp [s.mk s.mk [uncombo]c.hp] x2 s.hk
If you’re learning alone on an emulator, I suggest using Windows’ sticky keys (press shift 5 times). Then map player 2’s right direction to something like “left shift”. Press it twice and voila, Windows holds down the button for you.
Have fun.
Mash out hypers? You’ll probably be trash at the game, just like every other game you try to play. (Except maybe MVC2, which is why you act like an annoying toad about it so much).

How do you set it from turbo1 to turbo 2 in MSH. All I see in “System” under the diagnostic menu are normal, turbo and beginner and various combinations of such (unlike MvC which has a clear Turbo 1 and Turbo 2).

Not to mention that I’m right about new players playing this for a month. 3SOE fell off after a month, and that game is WAY less broken than this one. You’re delusional if you think this game is going to have some kind of sizable scene. Except for maybe a couple newcomers, this game will attract the GGPO crowd and nothing more…IF the macros don’t run them off.

And as far as MVC having a scene. There are tons of people that have been dying to play this game on next Gen. People that are not on GGPO and that don’t post on SRK. This post alone on FB has a ton of comments of people that cant wait to get down. Just like the people that say the same thing on Eventhubs, GameFAQS, Unity, YouTube, and other places. They all say the same thing. Then they get caught by an infinite or chipped to death more than a few times, say “fuck this game”, and peace the fuck out.
So, in the end, the only people that will actually stick with it is the GGPO crowd, give or take a few new players…IF the macros don’t drive them off.
And the scene for it still won’t be sizable.

Oh, and people giving up on 3SOE wasn’t mostly about technical issues. It was because they got tired of the CKY show. After a month, the game dried up. People still play, mind you, but it’s nowhere near as many as the first month.

Sounds like you are describing a scrub. You seem to be all to familiar with scrub mentality so maybe you are describing how you yourself will feel when the game drops.
The 50 different people that commented on that FB post have all been infinited and most of them have played MVC1 at tourneys. I dont see an infinite in 2012 discouraging them from the game anymore then it did in 1999.
