And that will make up most of the online community. And if macros happen, they go back to GGPO unless they get rid of MvC1 again. For most other people getting this, it will be a fun nostalgia trip to dabble into every so often but nothing more. Not that that’s a bad thing or anything.
we shall see. I dont expect this game to become big again or anything but I definitely want to learn it to a competent level and I know quite a few other players who feel the same way as me, so I will have my circle of buddies to game with.
If their dabbling into it they should ahve no problem with having to actually press PPP to dash seeing how it won’t be a big deal to them. Yeah lets let the peoiple who will actually play it for a good length of time suffer, that seems like a good idea.
Again, most of the people who would actually care are probably staying on GGPO to begin with. The ones who don’t probably wouldn’t have the dexterity, not to mention the actual desire to use the macros to the fullest extent.
The people that actually stick with it most likely won’t mind, because they’ll be using the macros themselves.
Yaaaaay!
Now I don’t have to worry about… static IP address… port forwarding… PS3 controller to PC drivers that will work with GGPO…
Can’t wait. Gonna learn some of that awesome Strider stuff that I couldn’t quite pull of on a keyboard lol.
Hey stupid, it’s most likely getting taken off GGPO.
Don’t call me stupid as I haven’t tried to insult anyone and it’s a waste of time.
Yeah, if it does it does, but I also wouldn’t be surprised at another Karnov’s Revenge solution ala 3S.
But if you want to keep insulting me, I’ll just say I’m wrong and that I’m stupid and I’ll go away like you want so that the real players can discuss how much macros will ruin this.
Awesome
Alright fine, you get your wish. Continue your legit discussion.
Have you played these games on Pad? Pressing two buttons during a match isn’t easy. More often than not, when I press the two buttons only one registers most of the time and such errors have costed more matches than I care to count. Most pads don’t have a button layout where pressing two buttons at the same time is the most comfortable thing to do. A marco alleviates the problem.

but seriously though, I dont want to have to deal with macrorines.
macros being in this game will drive newcomers and casuals further away, it will hurt the game more than help
No offense, but they’re going to be driven away as soon as they get hit with their first Wolverine or Red Venom infinite.
You don’t seem to be getting the fact that this game will clear out after a month.
Like someone said earlier in the thread, people will play this for shits and giggles with their friends. Once the novelty wears off, they’re outta there.
ok nostradamus. I’m saying that even if it does, that’s no reason to go “okay, go ahead and allow macros”
if its only active for a month, Id like that month to be macro free
Once again, why further harm this for those of us that are going to be sticking with it?
Nothing is going to be harmed.
It’s not like you have to worry about new players coming in and nailing you with infinites. One good beatdown and they’re back to whatever they’re playing.
For the people that actually will play it (which won’t be many), most of them already know how to play without macros, so they most likely won’t even be an issue.
Also, you act like either of these games don’t boil down to a race of who can hit their infinite first.
Once again, somebody else brought this up but I’m going to say it again. THEY ARE MAKING THE GAME LOCKED AT TURBO 1. Someone needs to slap them and tell them the game is played competitively at Turbo 2. Turbo 1 is extremely slow, and nullifies certain mixups and such, not to mention timing for combos. I’m scared they are really going to release the game like that.
wow, seriously?
The macro players are going to be the ones doing all this…ah fuck it nevermind. I’m not going to be baited
Everyone is over exaggerating how game-changing macros really are. For one thing, the wolverine ground infinite can be done on stick manually, and the same thing can be accomplished using berserker charge (gets them to the corner).
You can ban macros all you like, it wont change how severely you get owned one bit at all. I will play any one of you without macros gladly. I use them on ggpo to compete with other macro abusers who are basically infinite machines.
Let me tell you all something about this game on ggpo with full blown macros. The majorty of the players never really level up to their full understanding of the game because they are too pre-occupied with landing an infinite powered by said macros. What the result is, is you having top players who realized Gold War machine is the best character in the game (who also happens to be invulnerable to infinites or combos) and dominates infinite users completely. This is something I have come to realize during my time on ggpo, and I am just now beginning to play the game the way it was meant to be played. Although i definitely still use macros to pull off infinites. I am a keyboard player with a wonky configuration. My execution is not the greatest either. I would LOVE to see any of you try and push block, wave dash, or infinite manually using my configuration on keyboard, or pad for that matter. All of the top players are either Keyboard or Pad users.
That’s all I have to say about that.
Silent-Ninja from ggpo
Whoa, what?! Is there a way we can let them know that the game is played on Turbo 2? This seriously needs to be addressed ASAP!
