Basically, I was cleaning out my room and I found a lot of CDs/DVDs of MvC2 tournament footage, interviews and money matches back when I used to do a “1 man” preppy style recording when I was like 14 years old. Before recording was “cool”, I would travel arcade to arcade, tourney to tourney recording big name players and asking them questions and interviewing them.
Back then, youtube wasn’t around yet so I would just watch the footage at home with friends. Since then, it has disappeared. But today, low and behold, I found it all.
Now, before I start spending days uploading to youtube, I need to know that there is an audience who wants this footage. Some things I need to point out…
This is OLD footage. The matches you see will NOT have new stuff or new technology. In fact, you will see just “smart and basic” play from top players.
The top players in these videos are champions back in the day from the WC. You probably haven’t heard of them if you joined after 2006. Names such as Sin, Finesse, Junior B, Tone, Dark Knight. There are old school players also that you know such as Soo Mighty and ComboFiend.
Since this is back from the stone age, the quality might not be top notch and I had no tripod so matches will be shaky.
If you still want the footage (about 60GB worth), post up. If its only a couple people, Im just gonna toss away the discs because there is no point in wasting my busy time editing and uploading these matches.
MvC2 is a holy relic. It’s upsetting that people don’t play this game anymore even though MvC3 is out. I really wanted to see this shit at Season’s Beatings one last time.
Maybes I’m too late, but please don’t get rid of this footage, if you can’t be bothered to upload ill take them off you. Don’t throw them away, people are interested in footage from this era of mvc2.
Funny that this thread pops up cause I’ve always said that the older footage of MvC2 were classic, especially seeing old-school players playing at their prime. I’m very interested in seeing your old footage. votes yes
