You forgot it’s good for people who are too cheap to spend money to buy a console and games. Like me.
I mean something that will make it stay at 60fps, and impliment frame skip where needed, because on my computer ingame play goes up to like 80 fps, then drops, it’s all over the place even by doing that, it’s very annoying to have to keep adjusting.
Matt
Just some image I found on newsgroups. The 3 in one doesn’t work… for me and you atleast.
COuld be Photoshopped
If you’re too cheap to buy a DC, why would you spend 10x more on a 2 Ghz pc just to play the games at a decent fps? And even then, it’s still inferior to the DC in terms of quality and speed.
How much are DC’s going for nowadays? 20$? That’s cheaper than a movie for 2 with snacks.
nvm, i found out how.
ikaruga is fun
I agree, if you want to play games at a good fps on SP and not online, go buy a DC for 15$ then get some cdi, and then the cdi to nrg converter, burn ur games, play…
If you knew anything about PCs you wouldn’t of just said this. First of, the PC is by far more powerful then the dc in terms of quality and speed. Assuming MvC2 was ported over to the pc instead of it being emulated. If the producers wanted to, they can probably make MvC2 so much better then the dc version, it would put the dc version to complete and utter shame with todays high end vid cards and fast processors like the A64 or P4EE. The dc is equipped with a Hitachi SH4 200 MHZ processor with a PowerVR series 2 gfx core. LOL Even tho thats pretty impressive for a console, that just pals into comparsion to what a high end pc rig has like a Athlon 64 3400+/P4EE 3.4 GHZ with a GeForce 6800Ultra/Radeon X800 XT PE.
Also the emu is in alpha stages, I think this has been said before. If the authors continue to update the emu and make it better, it’ll probably be better then the dc version anyway! Most likely in the future will be able to enable AA/AF and to put whatever screen res we like.
Jeez when will the win2k ver be released…sigh
They would have to make it better than the arcade, which they couldn’t have done by the time it was released on the home systems because they weren’t allowed to change anything due to licensing.
The DC version is in essence the arcade version, the music is slightly different here and there, but that has nothing to do with it’s processing ability, as far as graphics, and sound effects, it’s arcade perfect, it just looks bad on a TV screen because of the high res arcade monitors.
So only in theory, MvC2 on a PC could be better, but with the limits they would have to work with, the only thing they could do is increase the res on the BGs or something unnecessary like that, and make the characters look even worse. It’s easier to port Naomi to Dreamcast because they are very similar processors, with one major difference being ram, but MvC2 never uses more ram in the arcade at any one time than DC still has available, loading time is virtually non-existant. On PS2, the fighting engine is pretty much emulated, I’ve heard not too great things about the PS2 version, but I don’t see how it could be any worse in all honesty.
I do love Chankast though, it’s easier than having to unhook my monitor and plugging it into the VGA adapter just to play MvC2 at high res.
Matt
chankast 0.25 out! win2k support and lots more other features i think… gonna test it out now
It even has rumble pack emulation
can someone pm me the links where i can find the emu…btw, i don’t know too much about emulators, but then emulators allow me to play my DC games on PC right? meaning i have to have the actual disc
win2k support? CHA-CHING!!! look out sprites, here I come.
cvs2 looks wonderful now that you can select different resolutions… there’s no more lines through the sprites for me if you set it over 640x480.
We still need a convenient resolution option for 3S and MvC2.
hmm .25 crashes on me everytime whenever i try to load a game, never had this problem before. anyone know what could cause that?
change the cd plugin to the other one.
ok, havent read this thread since page 2. someone update me the 25 pages.
is mvc2 playable online via internet on this emulator yet?
nope
