Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Cabinet Problems

Newbie here - bought my first cabinet, pardon my terminology if it is incorrect. It is a MvC2 in what looks like it used to be a Street Fighter 2 cabinet. The Naomi board connects to a converter via SVGA and the audio cables. The jamma harness then hooks into the converter. It was working when I bought it. Get it home, plug it in, and no picture on the monitor. There is power to the monitor, but no picture. Everything else is working, marquee, speakers, fans, etc. The video wire that connects to the jamma harness has a loose wire on the connector that plugs in on the board of the monitor. I am not sure if that is my issue or not because I tried reconnecting it and still nothing.

I have tried contacting a local business for help and they seem very disinterested in helping me and I want to get it running so I can play it!

Any help is appreciated, let me know if you need any more information.

You really need to post pictures.

You realize you basically said “It’s not working, there’s a loose wire, any tips?”, right?

Namely, which wire is it? I believe this would be on the JAMMA edge side, so each pin on the JAMMA line is labeled.

Yeah sorry, just tried to get the post up before I went to bed. I will try and grab the labels tomorrow after work. Here is a pic of the loose wire in question. http://imgur.com/AQmwmq7

Yeah, you’ll have to tell us where the other end of the wire goes.

Based on what you said that the system was working beforehand, in theory, reconnecting the wire should get it working again.

So you’re saying that the system and game boots up (ie, you hear the sound, you can insert coin, press start, etc), but you just can’t see any video?

Alright the other end of the wires go into v-red, v-blu, v-grn, v-gnd, and v-sync

Here are some additional pics from inside the cabinet.

Yes, the game boots up - sound starts playing - marquee lights up…but no video.

I adjusted all the dials on this and was able to get these green lines. I am thinking maybe something on the board of the monitor was jarred loose in moving it.

What’s your voltage? Might not be getting enough juice. 3.3 / 5.1 / and 12 Get it as close as possible. Also try removing the game cartridge & putting it back in, might have moved it around a bit with the move.

try another jamma game and see if its the monitor or the game.

Thanks for the tips. I will try and post any results. I don’t have another game to try so that one will be difficult.

What if you plug in the VGA connector off the I/O converter into an LCD/CRT monitor? Also re-seat all connections. And yeah check the voltage. In the past I have had low voltage on a naomi set up and it worked for a while before shutting off.
