just throwing it out there has nothing to do with mvc1 but my faves were xcota msh mshvsf.
EDIT: nvm
observing mvc1 on ggpo. Today I heard two players speaking, one flustered cause hu=is keyboard wasn’t running properly or whatever.
And then he requested a duo marco…
That made my day.
so i just reread through this entire thread and havent seen anything posted on spiderman.
is his BnB his normal air combo?
Yes. The intent for Spiderman’s BnB is to do a short air combo and mix them up on the way back down during their wakeup, then do it again and again until they either block or they die. If you end with SJ.fierce, that should give you enough time to decide what side to come down on and if you want to go high or low. Difficult to block online, a little easier to react to offline, but this is Spiderman’s main game.
To be honest. Watch every single spiderman player on GGPO. They all whether admit it our not do the same thing. That is… Fish for an air combo. End said air early with LK MK FP or something like so that Spiderman is still airborne. The opponent will drop vertically towards the ground Now for the big secret! It all depends on which direction you tilt the joystick, pad,kb w/e as you come down from the heavens with either j.FP or j.RK and you’ve got the ambiguous air combo crossover. Nail about three of those in a row and your foe is gonna be bleeding.
And you probably already know this but I’ll throw it out anyhow. The launchers are s.MP or c.MK to RK
damn Bernie beat me to it.
Ya like i said b4 everyone on GGPO just relys on 3p to do a quick inf and its funny how ive been playing so long without it and like i said i own everyone with simple 4 hit combos lol sad actually not to mention they abuse it with those fast ass wave dashes smh…Spiderman is decent but his only game really is that cross up air combo…thing is spidermans endurance is pretty bad, 1 good thing though is his body is hard to hit, but hes still a high risky reward type character…if you rely on luck go for spiderman but there are more consistent and better characters by far.
I’m starting to think this game is a counter pick game at the tip top level gameplay. I do better using a team that I don’t even main in certain matchups. Sticking true to your mains might not always be the best idea (unless you happen to play tip top tier characters).
I’ll give a couple teams where you might want to consider if you have a proper team and strategy versus:
Gold War Machine, War Machine
Gold War Machine, Wolverine
War Machine, Wolverine
Wolverine, Red Venom
The whole idea behind all 4 of these teams, is duo synergy. Out of all 4 of these teams, none of them are particularly rewarding for attempting to directly engage the opponent(except for wolverine infinites). There has to be a plan in place to play properly vs these teams, and generally you’re just buying time, building meter, or waiting for the right moment before you decide to act. The turning point in every single top player match is when duos are activated. If you are on the receiving end, you have to make sure that you avoid as many shitty situations as possible, which is extremely difficult. You can be tick thrown into a super easily for 100%, you can be chipped heavily, crossed up, hit with an instant overhead during block stun, etc.
If you are the one activating the duo, you MUST have a plan with the duo. You can’t just activate and super back to back and expect any reward for what you are doing. If you don’t properly take advantage of the time you have you will regret it once yours ends and it’s your turn to be on the defensive. Also, the plans of attack for duos are highly character specific, which makes it a bit more complicated.
I’m at my dads til sunday and ggpo works with no work at his place so if anyone wants to get games in ill be on til probably about midnight EST if anyone wants to scrape a noob
Ive decided to pick up this game since the release date isnt too far away and plus im a big marvel fan. catch me on ggpo sometime later today. also does anyone know how to use custom colors on ggpo that are from versuscolors.com?
ggs to everyone I played over the past 3 days, had alot of fun.
Anyone had already tried MvC Origins? I’ll get it when my ps3 gets repaired.
soooo, what happened with the MvCO? did GGPO players just refuse to support it? @-DarkCloud- @TheKimura ???
What’s a good source for learning this game?
Do you have a 360?
no ps3
I’m already on Origins.
Here’s my impressions:
1.) Extreme input lag/delay, probably due to my HDTV, but we will have to see.
2.) No Turbo 2 on ranked or player match.(basically they lied about it)
3.) Whenever someone rage quits, you are the one who gets penalized.
Also, at this point I don’t see anyone notable making videos of high level play of MvC1. I don’t think there’s really an interest in this game from a lot of people. Ranked is pretty much dead already.
The best matches I had online were vs Dios X and Arturo.
The problem is. Dios X is a fucking weirdo to be honest. I beat him and teabagged his body in a playful manner. I apologized and basically said I was just messing around. He took it to heart, and got upset. Never played me again after he lucked out a final win.
Art also ditched the game after playing a set with me. Art beat me 8-10 or 8-11. Something like that. He won basically due to the lag, and the fact I picked orange hulk on accident 3 times. Not to say that I wasn’t impressed by his gameplay. He’s pretty amazing for not playing in 10 years. I DO feel like however that RV on origins is basically artificially OP for now. Because of the lag and Turbo 1, I can’t rush RV like I normally do on ggpo. I know the matchup basically like the back of my hand. The problem is on Origins, the timing for first hit is ridiculous and everyone neutral jumps at the start. And then when you dash underneath on reaction, because of the input delay, by the time the dash comes out you get hit by a jumping attack. None of this happens on ggpo. I will say though, that it seems like everyone can move a lot quicker than me, so the input delay is probably on my side.
