Marvel Studios | The Infinity Saga ends

While rewatching the MCU movies it hit me just how big of an event movie Endgame is. I feel like it’s bigger than The Force Awakens, bigger than the prequel trilogy, pretty much the biggest movie to come out in the last 30 years or so.

I kinda think IW is “bigger” than EndGame cause it’s when Thanos makes his move after all the build up and hype. Also you get ALL the heroes (minus Captain Marvel and Ant-Man) on screen. I’m not saying ppl aren’t waiting for EndGame, but if I understood correctly what you meant by bigger I think IW was. Like the hype that TFA got was much more than TLJ cause all the years just to see what they were gonna go. Anyway my two cents

I guess the reason I think Endgame is bigger is mainly because it’s the final movie in the era of MCU as we know it, and it should offer some resolution for the original Avengers and their battle with Thanos. Infinity War was definitely a spectacle, and the hype was warranted. But it never had the core group united together, and that was central the theme in the first two Avenger movies. It was only when everyone worked with each other that they had success.

As far as we know, this will likely be the final movie with Iron Man, War Machine, Cap, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, and Natasha together. This is it. It’s like Jedi coming out in 1983 after everyone got their shit pushed in at the end of Empire. I’m more hype now than I was a year ago.

Now that I think about it, Return of the King was pretty fucking huge, too, lol.

I’ll try not to cut anyone with my edges on this. I’m about to be brave but very controversial. (These sentences are not meant to be taken seriously. They’re jokes and stupid meme phrases. Sighed, Sarcasm)

With End Game: It’s just another MCU movie to me. I just want to see what bs they pull from the comics to undo shit or if they write their own completely bonkers conclusion to all this mess. Even with liking a lot of the characters and not minding the story I have no real emotional investments or attachments to in any of it. When Panther got snapped I was like “oh. That sucks.”. When Peter got snapped I audibly laughed because how over acted the entire scene was. I didn’t get upset though because I know they aren’t going to genocide that many characters and keep them gone when several of them they had just introduced and already had sequels announced for.

I’m seeing it more out of curiosity than anything because the Infinity Stories are some of my favorite in all of marvel. So I want to see how they finish it.

It’s cool people are excited and I’m not trying to invalidate any of that. This movie is a big deal to a lot of people. That’s great. You do you.

A friend and I got into a HUGE fight on fb because he posted a screen shot of him waiting in a queue to get tickets. So I said something about how I thought it was silly he waited in a 45 minute queue to get tickets he likely won’t even like (the theater all my friends go to back home have assigned seating). He took that as me shitting on the movie and shitting on the fact he was excited about the movie.

I had to explain I wasn’t shitting on either. I was shitting on the fact I think it’s silly that people are willing to sit in a waiting queue for a something like a movie regardless of what it is. Like, I don’t have time or patience for shit like that. I fucking hate waiting. When it comes to anything. I do pick up grocery whenever I can so I don’t even have to get out of the car. I do overnight shipping on almost everything I order online, etc.

Another example is AFI/Smashing Pumpkins are going to be here end of September. I really wanted to go but when I went to the website there was an hour and 45 minute wait. I don’t have time for that and I don’t want to see them that badly. So I noped our if there.

He eventually understood and apologized for snapping at me. And I apologized for not elaborating more on what I meant.

I just don’t do lines, or queues or anything like that. It just frustrates me to the point of I don’t want to be there anymore or become no longer interested in that thing.

TL;DR More curious than excited or invested due to my enjoyment of all the infinity stories. Super stoked that people are super stoked. It is a big deal in the film medium. I just think they can get a little carried away at times with their fandoms. Even I’ve caught myself plenty of times getting overly carried away.

And this video sums up my feelings about queues/lines/waiting in general.

Don’t expect the X-Men until “at least” 2025

Lol don’t believe it. People too excited for them in mcu

People being excited doesn’t be mean it’s going to happen right away. They’re not going to just shoehorn in a major franchise when they likely already have the next few phases planned out and ready to go.

Don’t be silly. Disney gives very little about want fans want. They care about the money they spend.

they said black panther wasnt gonna ever be created and it was in less than 3 years. cause they know money to be had.

There also has to be the right time and space to place them into the franchise. I do think they will start peppering those things in.

yeah i do think with in the next movie or two…or even avengers they start implementing mutants. maybe the eternals will also be planting the seeds since they are so connected.

That’s my point. They’ve already said they’re going to involve the x-men and the f4. They’re just giving you a time line of when.

This. Shoehorning them just because “$$$” would be stupid and potentially throw off the entire tone or derail the MCU franchise completely. Neither would be permanent but there could be a lot of short term issues and damages Disney would have to clean up which I doubt they’d want to do.

Imagine, if you will, a Fantastic Four movie that doesn’t suck so bad that you don’t even blink the at the fact of Captain America being a repurposed Human Torch.

Hawkeye is a godlike roleplayer in the MCU. I rather roll with him than a lot of other people in it.

Five years, so…

1. 2019

  • Spider-Man: Far From Home

2. 2020

  • Black Widow
  • Doctor Strange 2

3. 2021

  • Eternals
  • Shang-Chi
  • ??? (Black Panther 2?)

4. 2022

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
  • ??? (Ant-Man 3? If no mutants of F4 in Phase 4, his chances have increased)
  • ??? (Captain Marvel 2?)

5. 2023

  • ???
  • ???
  • ??? (Avengers 5?)

Nova, Power Pack or Ms. Marvel movies maybe. Also I think there are chances of 2 Spider-Man movies per phase as well as two Avengers (or some other crossover) movies per phase.

gimme a good Hulk movie before all of that

Iirc His licensing issues is a web of shit. I can’t remember who owns the film rights but Marvel/Disney has to get permission to use him in every film

This may have changed over the years? I read about that a while ago. So I could be completely off base.

Black widow getting her own movie? Lol so lame.

I’d be mad hype for a Nova movie.
