that and a villain only suceeded because everything went 100% perfectly and everyone acted 100% the way he wanted lol. like if tony acted rationally when he heard the news, then nothing would have happened lol. like if they talked it out then baron zemo woulda been like"well…shit…i wasted years for that?"

oh they def tried to act like it was a serious movie…but its marvel, this whole no grim-dark rule under disney is bullshit. so nothing will ever get as serious as it needs to be.

Better than the other end of the spectrum, where you have the template all heroes follow indiscriminately murdering scrub ass terrorists he could stop with a breath and never cracking a smile…

So it seems that early reviews indicate that GOTG 2 is inferior to the first movie. Thoughts?

Kind of like an Avengers 1 vs Avengers 2 deal for me imo. The first one is a milestone and a classic. The second one indeed recycles quite a bit of stuff that made the first one good. But it’s still very fun if cheesy in its own way.

Go see it for practically anything Batista says. Since Drax is no longer bound by his tragic backstory and need for revenge from the first, he cuts loose and it’s hilarious

The only thing I keep hearing about this one is that they spread the characterization a little too thin. Well more in the sense that they focus too much on everyone while trying to tie up the overall storyline.

But that doesn’t sound too bad. James Gunn said he’s trying to do a complete trilogy with this and Vol. 3, so fleshing out the background of new and old members to lead into the third movie is fine.

The first film stood on its own more because it had something to prove. Still left a few plot threads open for the sequel, but was its own thing in the end. This one was probably made with the knowledge that they’re greenlit for a sequel right from the beginning.

Well that’s my theory at least…

Went to see GotG v2 last night.

I think it might be better than the first. Definitely the funniest film I’ve seen in a long time.

Saw it last night, great movie.

• Jokes don’t stop
• Everyone gets screen time
• Score and Soundtrack are just as good as the first movie
• The 3D is brilliant
• Drax, Groot and Yondu steal the show

• Too damn long at 2 1/2 hrs needed half an hour cut

Doesn’t make me feel like the first movie wanting to go back and see it again and again. Although there were a lot of laughs and the characters have a lot of fun it gets dark really depressing in parts.
