That plot point was ultimately proven untrue and discarded very very early.
I don’t even think it would be a good idea to make Kang related to Doctor Doom. That would just reduce character variety. But who knows, it all depends on what works for the plot, I guess.
Well Marvel does have it’s retcons, and with Time Travel being the Villains main shtick, and the guy being from the distant future shit happens. Like Quick Silver and the Scarlet Witch being retcon to not to be Magneto’s children at all.

However, such an origin does not necessarily dispute the whole “Doom is somehow also related to Kang” origin, although it DOES make it complicated, as it would suggest that Nathaniel Richards would somehow also have to be related to Doom (Reed and Doom as half-brothers??!). Or heck, it could have been much further down the line, maybe in the 1200s, Richards and Von Doom blood inter-mixed. It is unclear. So therefore, for now, at least, the question of whether Doom and Kang are related is as yet unresolved.

I don’t know why Feige would like to bring that -among all things- back for the movies.
I don’t know why focus on a connection that’s not important to who Kang is. Marvel has done nothing with his connection to Reed. The guy is like four different characters.
Definitely Alice Eve if theyre going for the older look. Or maybe Emma Roberts for the younger look.
Im not 100% sure Emma would be the best choice for Emma Frost (well shes got the name for it) but Id like to see her in the MCU.
Also dont know who youd class as a smoking out of this world level of blonde hotness? Really cant think of anyone.
Read his Marvel Wiki entry, Kang literally is like several guys, Kang gone by but not limited to Nathaniel Richards, Pharaoh Rama-Tut, Scarlet Centurion, Kid Immortus, Iron lad, Victor Timely (who played a minor role with the OG human torch android origins), and every time he showed back up to the Marvel 616 “present day” he a different version of Kang.
He also did some microworld/quantum world stuff putting him square in Ant-Man Rouge Gallery material.
It also gets weirder if you look at other alternate timelines, where Franklin Richards created Nathaniel Richards/Kang with his reality warping powers to suit his own ambitions
Note Phineas T. Horton who built the android Human Torch used to work for a Victor Timely (who in reality was time traveler Kang the Conqueror) in the town of Timely Wisconsin.
Not that they’ll “focus” on it. But it’s a constant in the comics and maybe they want to keep that too.

Maybe Kang instead of time travel it will be multiverse fuckery. Sort of like make him think his role is the MCU’s Living Tribunal, kind of like what @maxx said, and then have the real one appear to judge him. They can go so many routes and Marvel has a tendency of mixing characters or versions of the same one.

Kang was never consistent, and had multiple origins and retcons because of his time traveling nature
But for what I’ve known, since the 60s’ his real name has always been Nathaniel Richards, and a Richards descendant. That hasn’t changed.
Not within the last few decades, but Kang had been for the most part an Avengers villain and few of his incarnations ever dealt with the F4 directly or that much. But like I have said they have tried to clean up Kang’s convoluted origins and alternative appearances several times but they always come back to undoing it or making it more complicated again.

But the connection is throwaway. It’s like how Ken and Guile are in-laws and Street Fighter does nothing with that connection. Unless something will be done with it there’s no point on harping on it. Marvel could erase it and Kang loses nothing.
I still don’t see why the would cut it. So Mister Fantastic can be white?
This is a talk we wouldn’t been having if the actor cast wasn’t black.
I’m not thinking how this affects Reed casting because Kang as fuck all to do with him. They are not beholden to each other.
