I will watch New Mutants, and it doesn’t look bad but by all that’s unholy I am so tired of the psychological/horror angle Fox used on mutants. I hope Marvel studios gives them a better treatment.
Spinning directly out of Jonathan Hickman’s X-MEN and Tini Howard’s EXCALIBUR, X OF SWORDS will be a massive mutant milestone that each X-Book will take part in. Every current X-Men writer—Jonathan Hickman, Tini Howard, Gerry Duggan, Benjamin Percy, Ed Brisson, Zeb Wells, Leah Williams, and Vita Ayala—has come together to craft a modern epic that will go down in X-Men history!
They never used a horror slant to the xmen
That’s why alot of people are interested in the new mutants. They barely even pushed the whole Civil rights aspect of them. They’ve for the most part stayed straight up superheros vs villains, barely Grey lines
Man I really want to just buy/preorder all the singles for Empyre and X of Swords. I prefer trades/buses but with everything going on who knows when I’ll get trades of either.
I think all the Hickman X books aside from Hellions and Wolverine are on issue 11 or 12 right now and I’m on issue 6 cause I bought all the dawn of x trades when they were on sale. I’d rather keep all the issues in the same format (trades). Especially when it’s a multi-titled build.
If I bought singles of all the issues I’m missing I’d get confused and annoyed trying to read them since I wouldn’t know which to read first. The DoX trades puts the titles in canonical order for you. Which is extremely helpful and one of the big reasons I prefer trades for runs like this
I think depending on how fast they’ll be able to push out trades after DoX 7 (which drops end of August) I’ll see about getting single issues. Just so I can stay current and so things in XoS and Empyre make sense.
I‘ll just get the trades as they come out for collection sake. This run has been so good I don’t mind double dipping
Edit: hell yeah, found the through-line for the all the X titles.
Maybe it was just postponed. I suppose it will be up in comixology in a few weeks.
The art is really good and the story interesting I’m not too well versed on this Omniversal Majestrix and Otherworld. Apparently it’s a world that connects to alternate realities and all the Captain Britains are sworn to serve? Anyway, Apocalypse is interested in this world.
My local comic book store is now only gonna do back issues of stuff. No more new comics… We got a few places I can go to but it’s sad to see they had to switch because of all the diamond shenanigans.
