Sentinel.
First thing that comes to mind is a conversation I had with someone on youtube about Sent; he told me back in the early days of Marvel people didn’t know about fast unfly/fly, the laser/Sentinel assault/rocket punch combo and what not, he was more of a turtling character and was more suited to switching over to Storm and Cable which made him fair. Now, another conversation with an experienced person on SRK comes to mind where I am told that just about any mook can pick him up and be good with him. Basically I replied that I agreed and that when fighting Sentinel with a low-tier character you have to take that players skill level and basically be three-four times better or have a good match-up character (which is rare).
He’s not God-tier *just * because of his insane damage output, surprising speed, priority and mobility. He’s also surprisingly easy to pick up and win with. Its not difficult to see why many consider him the top of the god tier.
On an off-note, he was comparably powerful in X-Men: Children of the Atom. He was basically everything you see here, but was easy to lock down and didn’t have the ease of multiple super abuse as well as unfly / fly. I don’t think the developers really intended for him to be this powerful; but didn’t test the variables of the game enough. Remember, Magento was originally supposed to be a run-away character. Something to think about.
Servbot/Kobun.
Probably more of a gimmick than dan, can’t really touch anything without supers.
Shuma Gorath.
I like his air-air normals, something the CPU likes to prove to me in arcade mode. His zoning is decent but boy does it take practice. Assists aren’t that great, although his throw assist is alright. I’ve seen some horror videos with him beasting off of Zangief ground assist.
Not trying pigeonhole anything, but the Japanese overall seem to play him better than we do.
Just a note: Shuma doesn’t have a throw assist. Maybe you meant his lvl3 super? I wonder if he has slight invincibility on his back dash (his body just dissipates and you only see his eyeball move backwards)? Regardless, he retreats so far and so quickly, that back dash is hot.
No throw assist? I thought I had seen vids where he jumped in, the point got thrown and he did his pose…maybe it was the point character that threw or something.
Silver Samurai.
^^up yonder
Shuma does have a bit of invincibility on the backdash. I remember seeing it on Magnetro’s Inventive Flow page on dash numbers.
Can chip like no tomorrow…but hogs meter like Thanos. Better have a battery on your team. Many of his crouching attacks hit high instead of low for some reason…kinda low-priority, the frame data says his got four frame attacks but my Ruby always beats him to the punch in CC. Strange. The Elemental transformations are a mixed bag.
Sonson.
MONKEY ASSIST RELAYERS INTO MORE MONKEYS
launch plus monkey assist, random air combo, hp/hk finisher then make em land into MAYHEM always makes lowtier fun again when standard xx/tron/aa gets stale
random projectile setups just give non-airdash characters more options whenever you hit a launcher.
now if only i could play as son son
^ What’s up with the myspace link?
Freaky, right? I was so surprised to find that. Actually, whoever made that Sonson one, did a darn good job.
Hey, says she’s single, slim and loves MvC2. You interested in her or something?
I think the thread is all about Sonson…as in the info is supposed to be Sonson’s specs. lol smart-ass
I thought so too…until it said “Son Son” was 5’ 8’’. I was like, what the hell? And then it says her history is that of the video game character and that her interests are blogging and stuff. Hard to tell because I don’t know much about Myspace.
Oh yeah…Son Son.
There a way to combo into the POW?
Spiderman.
