So I just took a real hard look the Avengers diagram thing…
Spoiler
If I understand it and the issue correctly, basically the Avengers now start as a core team of Cap, Tony, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Thor. If they need help, Cap can contact certain heroes, while other team members have access to others? Some of the icons aren’t ringing bells lol.
i dont know how you guys can deal with anything avengers cap and thor so boring, is some ww2 baron back to take over the world, new avengers had a fly team before the whole xmen vs ww2vets, just got daredevil in before the whatever moment ruined it, blackwidow is always 2 thumbs up
Maybe because in Avengers Hickman is doing the origin of THE ENTIRE MARVEL UNIVERSE!!! How you gonna go through life not knowing what ape Daredevil’s descendants evolved from son? Or… how he’s related to Adam and Eve? NO HATE MESSAGES FROM EITHER RELIGOUS OR NON RELIGOUS PEOPLE PLEASE!!! :looney:
Nah. New Avengers is basically the return of the Illuminati. From everything I’ve read, Black Panther seems to be the leader. The other members are Reed Richards, Ironman, Black Bolt, Dr. Strange and Namor. Beast may be in there as well.
A couple articles:
And here’s an article from USA Today covering the Hickman’s Avengers:
Avengers was so good. What a way to start things off.
Future Foundation was fun. I was real afraid of the roster and how things would go on, wondering whether or not the kids would be cast to the wayside. Glad to see my fears didn’t happen. Everything is good. Very interesting set up. Looks great.
Thor was brilliant. Seeing the God Butcher in action, Thor’s reaction to him, the narration, the look and feel, probably my favorite comic of the week.
Spidey was amazing. Read it. Loved it. Need more.
Iron Man was nice. Pretty interesting, but nothing spectacular. Just a matter of seeing how this all plays out.
So what’s good now? I left my job at the comic book store right when AVX ended (that cheesy pose by Cyclops is like an inside joke between former regulars and coworkers now) and since I got a new job, I was interested in the Marvel Now stuff that they were pulling flipping around with all the writers. I haven’t really kept up with any releases even though it seemed second nature when I was working because I knew what came out every week .
There are a lot of good Marvel books right now - it’s getting expensive.
Uncanny X-Force, ASM, and All-New X-Men are all must reads for me. They’re just too good. Avengers and Uncanny Avengers are off to good starts, but it’s still early. The new Cap book falls into that category as well. Right now the only Marvel NOW books I don’t play on reading are Red She-Hulk, Thor, Journey into Mystery and few others.
Also, read an early copy of arena(didn’t buy it, just looked at it). The book was god awful. Walker’s art is pretty but the book was pointless and awful.
