AvX #11 was amazing - as was the UXM tie-in.

The thing that bothers me about the entire event though is I’m not really buying Cyclops being the bad guy in this one. Tragic hero more than a bad guy. The “good” guys in this event don’t seem that way at all. You push a guy to the brink, then panic when he decides he’s had enough.

I might be late on this, but WHOA! at the new Thunderbolts lineup:

I almost got a little hype at that roster, then I remembered Way is writing and Dillon is on art…no thank you.

I believe it was Marc Guggenheim who had Wolverine burned down all the way to his adamantium skeleton during his Civil War tie-in. Wolverine went through the wringer in that storyline. He got toasted in a plane crash, blown up by Nitro, had his throat slit, and probably some other stuff, all within a span of a few days. I didn’t have a problem with any of that. Guggenheim even addressed Wolverine’s healing factor in an epilogue and why he’s able to endure so much, and what happens to him. I still think Guggenheim’s run is one of the better Wolverine stories out there. (Not that there’s much competition, mind you.)

Chronologically speaking, Brian K. Vaughan had Logan (before he had an adamantium skeleton) survive the Nagasaki atom bomb in World War II.

Paul Jenkins also turned Wolverine into a Victorian-era style Canadian sissy who cried like a baby when his half-brother bastard bully slit his puppy’s throat on a rainy day. The fact that after all that, somehow Wolverine could still grow up into a badass is probably the greatest testimony to the strength of his healing factor. A normal person could never heal from that. I know Carpet Lint hasn’t.

This sums up how I feel about AvX:

An obvious Hunger Games bandwagon story, but still has the potential to be pretty awesome:

Zephyranthes - You’re right it was Gugg. For some reason before Aaron I kept thinking Millar and Rucka and I knew it wasn’t either of them, not their style. Totally blanked on Gugg’s name. I enjoyed his run though.

Loved Wolverine and The X-Men this week. Oh snap human sized Sentinels! Konami’s X-Men arcade game is possible now! Hell the series even has a mini Krakoa.

Avenging Spider-Man was good too with Deadpool in the hizouse! The Breakfast Club nod made me smile.

So now that avengers academy is ending, X-23 and the rest are going hunger games? the pheonix being used to turn the xmen to power rangers made me cancel a ton of comics from my pull. shits getting dumb, i was hoping cyclops was getting killed off, prof x will do tho

I think someone here said it already, but I don’t think it’s that he’s dead - it’s more that Cyclops is the one who killed him. The entire event they were alluding and referencing how close the two have been historically. It’s only recently (relatively) that Cyclops began to adopt more of Magneto’s philosophy of mutants standing up for themselves more and taking the protection of their species as priority.

So yea, if it were Wolverine or Cap that did it? Meh.

Cyclops? That’s a big deal. That was his “heel turn” so to speak.

Problem is - they’ve more than likely have found these events make them the most money by far, so there’s probably no end to them in sight.

I just hate the idea of the last few events completely changing the status quo to the point where they think it’s a good idea to just go ahead and relaunch a ton of books.

thanks for that find ctg on xforce,

thanks for the find, Xforce is one of the main reasons i even have a pull ,that and deadpool hijinx, not stoked on the change, cables to dry with out deadpool with him, but luv domino, unless she is all weathered and tired in the future ill give this a shot

In other news, Loki is awesome.

Forge is alive? Dr. Nemesis has no fedora? Domino a criminal (even though she’s on Storms team of xmen)? TYPE O SHIT IS DIS!

Domino has always been a loose canon. Always thought of her as lady deadpool

Dr Nemesis looks like Kabal and didn’t Forge go crazy and blew himself up on that ship in Astonishing X-Men? Also, looks like Colossus isn’t the Juggernaut anymore.

Um yeah when Marvel Now! starts I’m all about Hickman’s Avengers books and dropping almost everything else.

I’ll stick with ASM unless Slott does something I really hate in #700 since he said he’s going to piss off a lot of fans with that issue. Eh it’s not like you can do something in Marvel that can’t be overturned anyway.

I don’t care for Fraction on team books so no more FF books. AvX #11 once again shows that Bendis can’t handle Mutants at all except for Wolverine so I’m not reading any of his X stuff.

Boy Marvel and DC are saving me a lot of money with these creative shifts and reboots. I think I’ll buy a yacht.

with that money saved go buy the Wolverine Loeb trade when it comes out

So it looks like there will be two X-Force books. UXF is getting rebooted as well. Lineup of Psylocke (leader), Storm, Puck, Spiral and a couple others joining in the first issue. No artwork yet besides the logo:

Oh snap Psylocke, Storm and Spiral on the same team! :lovin: I’m a read that in my underwear.

Lol seriously though I’ll give the first issue a try. I hope the writing is good.

Spiral should be the point character. I think the team would be more effective with Sentinel in place of Psylocke, though. The Spiral/Sentinel trap is… KILLER
