I’ve read a bunch of his superhero comics and while none of those are as good as Scalped or The Other Side, I don’t have a problem with mindless fun - which is probably what the masses want anyway.

Avengers academy is Letting x23 fit in perfectly with finesse , those 2 make a great team, actually hazmat and Whitetiger are gangster to, most the dudes on the team are bummers…The phoenix 4 or 5 just hit power rangers madness, WTF?
Looks like WAR is an event to me, bunch of heroes and stupid Marvel teasers are a sure sign of event-y-ness.

Yeah Neremixed is right. Neither are events. A lot of heroes, a bunch of teasers, usual Marvel PR machine. Haven’t really looked / cared much about War but MU vs. Avengers isn’t even canon.

There’s lots of Spider-Man villains with an animal theme. Curt was mentioned in the first movie and appeared in the second and third. Lizard was even the first villain Spider-Man fought in the premiere of the '90s cartoon. He’ll definitely be known to the non comic book reading crowd.
I’m nervous about the ASM movie too (got tickets for Tuesday night at NY Lincoln Center’s five story IMAX screen yippee) since I really liked Raimi’s Spider-Man 1 and I hate Mark Webb’s only other movie, 500 Days of Summer. But choice of villain is one of the few things I’m not worried about.
