Marvel Comics Thread

I almost picked it up but held off, is that cannon?

I think so? Doesn’t really contradict stuff we already know and there’s lots of Marvel storyline tidbits from the past (a surprising amount actually, more than your average current Marvel comic) even if some of it is used for comedic effect.

Without giving much away how exactly Galactus had a daughter gets explained towards the end of the story. It does make sense in a way but you really should go into this book with a sense of humor about, well everything.

There’s like about 100 of Galacta’s Tweets in the back of the book. SERIOUSLY. :wow: Some of my favorites.

*“You humans apparently refer to those neurosensing FX (seen around high-power energy manifestation) as “Kirby crackles” for some reason.”

“Via Power Cosmic, I see the reality scars left behind the earth’s orbit; this universe really ISN’T designed to be rebooted this often, OK?”

“Srsly, the structural integrity of this universe’s reality = frayed’n tattered from all the reboots (or “distressed,” the fashionable term).”*

She Tweets about Thanos, Death, the Sh’iar and lots of other Marvel stuff along with poking fun at Lady Gaga. Adam Warren’s a psycho.

After looking at the list of what Sano linked me to for a full list of all the issues concerning the Civil War I realized that it was still missing some stuff. I combined that checklist, a masterlist on Marvel.com, and ebay+ mycomicshop.com for reference on a few covers of issues not listed in either list. I think I have compiled a first Masterlist including Cover Variants. Would anybody be interested in seeing this? I can cut and paste or can put up an attachment with the actual word document.

EDIT: Can someone tell me what Deadpool GLI Summer Fun Spectacular has to to with the Civil War era; if it has anything to do with it? I think it was a typo on the marvel webstie. I saw it in the marvel cover gallery for the civil war stuff and I had WTF look when I saw it

-DJ-

If memory serves me right, the GLI Summer issue had Deadpool interacting with the post CW Fantastic Four (B. Panther, Storm, Thing and Torch). So it might be more of an ‘Initiative’ tie-in than Civil War.

WRONG!!! The post cw ff encounter was in cable and dp. It has been collected in deadpool vs the marvel universe

bastion was probably watching the simpsons movie when he came up with that idea…

Hey guys, Deadpool #22’s cover, with him dressed as a sheriff in front of a police car…is that supposed to be a nod to Stephen King’s Desperation? I read that there were multiple marvel titles that had covers that spoofed movies…

Well Doomwar # 4 will have DP in it and he will be interacting with the four you have mentioned

Greg Land has done that for years

anybody have any information on the Thanos Imperative comics???

Is this the first time he’s been back since The End???

Thanos was in Pet Avengers, the first series - even though he should have really been dead during that time - but that book has some pretty screwed up continuity issues. Marvel’s confirmed a few time at cons that the Pets do have the Infinity Gems though. Not entirely sure how a lot of things in that book work alongside everything else.

Don’t think too much about Pet Avengers, Sano, just treat it like it’s non-canon. It’s kept me sane so far.

Anyone got links to JMS’ interviews regarding OMD and his Spiderman run in general? I want to read up more on his work on the run.

I actually bought “Galacta” and didnt even know it

Man i love second coming I think its gonna on my list of top X-men events along with AOA and TDP saga.

speaking of AoA I bought the whole set back on eBay around 40 bucks and yet I still haven’t read it yet… -_-

Second Coming has been good so far. Doomwar is under the radar too.

If I remember correctly, it had a few stories that lampooned things that happened during CW with Deadpool and the Great Lakes crew around.

Not enough Archangel in this weeks X-Force, hopefully next week will bring us more of the Angel of Death!

Goddamm my store didn’t have Atlas and i was realy looking forward to it (AoA was one of my two favroites book in the all DR fiasco) well ill pick it up next week, oh and everyone get hype for the Gorilla-Man mini shit is gonna be tight
anyway i was worried about Bru will do wrong with Secret Avengers good to see that i was worrie for nothing. Great book
but…

SA#1

Spoiler

That was Nick Fury in the last page right? i’m not imagining things

Thanos Imperative (cosmic is like the most solid books from marvel month in month out) , new FF new SW, Luke Cage TB, Thor,
Alot of stuff to read AHHHHHHHH :looney:

Edit: I knew that the Thanos imperative will be good but shit was fuckin’ great looks like it’s going to be even better than WoK

Second Coming was dope this week! Cyclops continues to be the man! And how can you not love the first 9 and 3/4th pages having no dialog but just straight up fighting! :nunchuck: While I looked at those pages I pictured the '90s X-Men cartoon intro song running through my head and as soon as people started talking the intro song was over. :looney: Good stuff!

Fantastic Four was god damn amazing this week. Speech given by Reed during the beginning pages was godly.

Indeed it was, while I loved the issue I totally disliked the art, seriously the continuous change of artists is my only gripe with the series ;.;

Latest Amazing Spidey was sweet, really diggin’ the Shed story arc.

Secret Avengers was pretty fun, though
Excavating minerals from Mars? Isn’t that like…billions of dollars? How the heck could Roxxon afford such cash @_@
Thor was too good

Thunderbolts was sweet, but WTF with Songbird’s look?! Give her back her long hair damnit! Why is Crossbones on this team for again? Also, WTF at ending…

Lookin forward to Gorilla Man #1 later this year =D

Ultimate Enemy continues in Ultimate Mystery this July ugh @_@ Oh well I wasn’t around to enjoy Ellis’ Ultimate Trilogy when it first started publishing but I guess this makes up for it :stuck_out_tongue:

Overall, mine week was made Marvel!

FF was awesome(Reed laying the smaketh down on them science scrubs was priceless)
but the Thanos Imperative gets my choice for best book of the week
Bendis and the others should look up to stars (get it… :P) and learn how an event should be written
