lol why so rushy
Oh my god
Did anyone read Psylocke #2? I just read the first panel and literally face palmed.
I read it last week so please refresh my memory.
The very first panel has the words-
Dubai, Saudi Arabia
How can editors make allow such dumb shit to pass?
Oh yeah, I read another fan pointing that out online. I guess Yost didn’t run a google map search or something.
Or maybe, in the Marvel U., Dubai is in KSA :looney:
…but hey 1,000,000 years ago, there were T-Rexs in the UK! …and Nessies!
i have a picture of it and i wish i could post it
but lol @ homemade avengers defibrillator
Wasn’t there already a New Avengers Annual? I’m pretty sure the first one was when Powerman got hitched to Jessica Drew and they fought that powered up, ex-shield agent from the savage land.
Yeah that one came out in '06. The one that just came out is the third one.
Just got the latest New Avengers.
It was stupid as fuck. Why wouldn’t Norman Osbourne leave someone behind to guard Cage?
Why does the cover have NOTHING to do with the story. Why does it seem like Superhero comics and Pro Wrestling began a long downfall towards mediocrity at the same time?
Sure there are good books/feuds every now and again, but each universe/federation is allowing one man to decide the shots of everything and makes it so lamesauce.
How did Brian Michael Bendis get so much power? Oh well.
The covers seem to be one behind for whatever reason.
I finally realize why I hate New Avengers, took me 3 years to realize I hate it because it lacks Tony Stark. I think the Iron Man cameo in addition to Quicksilver and Hank Pym getting loads of shine make me love Mighty.
On topic though, not sure why New Avengers 59 claimed to place emphasis on Spidey and Spider-Woman in the solicit and cover, I agree with Apathy New Avengers 60 cover should have been 59s
I just got done reading The Intiative series and I was pissed at the ending.
Dammit 3D-man, why’d you have to be a prick?
Also, does anyone know who the new Ant-man was/is?
Marvel is so aware that their comics have lacked that certain zing for a while now. Any reputable comic shop wont let you just stand and read the issues so you have to buy based solely on what the cover is selling. I just remember Dark Avengers 4 or 5 with Iron Patriot attacking Dr. Doom when there’s nothing close to that in the issue. I’m just happy that most X-Men titles are getting good again and Wolverine covers rarely lie to me either.
[edit] if the uncanny x-men with Magneto on the front didnt actually have Magneto IN it, I was driving to NY and getting some damned answers.
Im really digging Dr. Strange Lately, just read the Oath and the first 2 issues of his new mini, cant wait till his new mini series w/ Spiderman comes out some time next year

That’d be no. 4 actually, but mind you Superman: World of New Krypton had a misleading cover for most of it’s issues.
I really don’t like it when the cover of a comic has NOTHING to do with the actual content; reason being is to attract the average reader =/
Hmm next issue of Nomad will feature the Young Avengers, sweet.
Also WTF is up with everyone going up against the Agents of Atlas?
For that matter…when will the next issue of AoA come out?
speak not!!!
I hath changed my prior comment.
A lot of covers don’t match the interiors nowadays because of internet, solicits and continuity.
Solicits are done 3 months in advance. In Previews and online both. There’s always a chance that a cover will spoil a story.
Let’s say at the end of a current issue, you want to have a big reveal that, I dunno Shuma- Gorath (shyeah right lol) is behind everything and then you want to kick off a big Shuma arc. If someone sees a solicit of Shuma on the cover for a book that comes out three months later well there goes your reveal. And the entire internet will know the reveal too. However a generic Spider-Man cover spoils nothing.
The other problem is, say someone wants to tell a Magneto story fighting the Avengers 3 months later and the artist specifically draws a cover depicting that. Next thing you know, the writer can’t tell that story because someone else is doing a story where Magneto gets his arm blown off and he becomes a woman, or something. So that entire cover drawing is thrown out because the writer can’t use that story. According to JQ this scenario has happened before, IE cover drawings have been discarded because of storyline conflicts. A generic cover of Captain America would cause no problems.
It’s just the nature of the current beast. Don’t expect storyline related covers from Marvel and DC all the time because the industry has changed so much. When the big 2 pull them off, it’s great. But it’s just not as easy to do all of the time like it was in the '90s and prior.
